I am glad the 3DS is doing this well. And this comes from a Sony fan. I was just tired of all the doom talk and of hearing how smartphones would kill dedicated handhelds. I said many times that all 3DS needed was SW and a price cut, and look at it!

I hope Vita does well too, hopefully it will surpass PSP in HW and do much, much better in the HW department.

About the rest, 360 is a beast in USA and UK and meh elsewhere, PS3 very good almost everywhere but USA were it is meh. Wii very good in general.

PSP sold a decent amount of hardware. What I want to see is the Vita doing much better on the software side of sales.

Skyrim just shipped 10 Million by the way people.

I'm very pleased with these numbers. It sold over 1M across all platforms this week alone. Next week,it should increase.

Hmm...3DS doing suprisingly well..Xbox 360 and Wii also.
Ps3 doing decent. Why its being outsold?..
Wii tops software wtf..
3ds needs only Marios to sell..boring.

Take my love, take my land..

Everything seems to be holding up pretty well.

I also laugh at analysts that declared deticated handhelds dead and that Mario should move to iOS. Really how can those people call themselfs analysts? Everyone with brains knew immediately after price cut that new nintendo handheld with two Mario games will sell gangbusters during holidays.

They're not analysts, they're cheerleaders, and they ALL own Apple Stock.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Wii is doing very cool in software, even with only Just Dance 3 and Zelda as recent releases!?

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Finally found the right Dec 10 global sales thread. I went to the other one and it was a nightmare. Finally, people are talking about sales and not comparing games while keeping long quote strings going on forever. Anyways, I'll stop my bitching considering 3DS is wrecking shop. I had little doubt especially with MK7 and 3D Land being released for the holiday season.

Basically, I see pretty good numbers for all systems.  I knew the Wii would do good this holiday season but I almost expected it to do worse considering the software drought.  I suppose Just Dance 3 and Zelda are enough to keep the Wii going?  I am guessing that people are also interested in the older Wii games also.  I probably should keep an eye on some of them to see if their sales have increased.

From last thread...

"wow, MW3 performance on the XBOX is crazy, expect well over 14 million in the end.

Its running around 20% ahead in Europe and America over Black ops !!!! With two more big weeks to go and no big FPS for a while, I think MW3 will get well over 14 million on the Xbox.

PS3 is strong and we see our first 12 million seller, as MW3 is running over 12% ahead.

Sales are around 17.59 million and with 2 bigger weeks ahead

Also holy crap at Skyrim. Its blasting previous FF games easily and if it hits 10 million, it would be bigger than FF7. I am not sure, but wouldn't it be the biggest RPG on a consul? "

wow @ Wii software sales, didn't notice it till now

MH3G is now out in Japan and it looks like the Japanese are gobbling it up.  Of course that is a given but the really good 3rd party games are just coming out or coming out early next year.  There wasn't really any big blockbuster 3rd party game that I can think of being released prior to MH3G.  Some third party companies were basically sitting and waiting to see if sales would increase (apparently they believed the "analyst" that dedicated hand helds were dead).  Nintendo of course had to release their two Mario games to get the system to take off.  We will have to wait and see what third party companies want to come out first and blame Nintendo for releasing too many of their games since third party companies can't compete against Nintendo.
