The Xbox360 can only sell so many consoles to the American Public. Even the PS2 only sold 35+ million consoles in the US and the 360 is a 1/3 of the way there. The 360 just does not have the demographic to sell a tremendous amount.

I think this years going to be the 360's worst for sure , the titles MS are boasting aren't as strong as previous years. But i'm sure they'll be able to gain ground in 09 with strong developer support ( Halo 4 maybe ?)

Oddly, and probably due to there being no Wii/PS3 in the subject, I agree with Dio on this.

Oh and I think your OP may be flawed Crazzyman, It's often difficult to understand the numbers you throw around so I could be wrong, but you seem to have counted the sales of 2005 into 2006.

If I assume the 1.5mil shipped in 2005 is correct.. then the numbers look like this;
shipped/sold/extra (in millions)

1.5 / 1.1 / 0.4

8.9 / 6.7 / 2.6

7.3 / 8.2 / 1.7

Well, given a reasonable sell-through of the stock in the stuffed channel, the numbers would suggest that Microsoft did keep pace in 2007. Sure, it wasn't a vast increase, but to say that sales will die is WAY premature.

Also, I do not understand why you would care so much or wish for the demise of a company. This competition is good! I own a PS3 and am getting a Wii. I have no plans to get a 360, but I wish Microsoft success because this competition is leading gaming in new directions (not to mention driving prices).

Also, thank-you, Million, now I can do this.... $ONY, M$, NINT£NDO ... yes, I know it's quite the stretch, but now there is an equal-opportunity comeback for people who think typing company names that way is impressive or unique.

As you can see, shippments decreased. So AND extra. That means, they are not confident in x360 anymore.

And yeah, i counted sales 2005 with 2006, BECAUSE x360 had NO shortages by the end 2006. ALL who wanted bought x360. That was reasonable.
By the way, ADDING EXTRA IS OK, adding SOLD is not OK? Why?

I don't think there is anyone left that still thinks 360 can win, and if they do then they are probably pretty high on something, as just looking at the percentages you can almost make the statement that its physically impossible. But we'll always love 360 for its good run of the mill software so a half kudos there.

So MS may have interpreted holiday 2006 demand incorrectly and overshipped... Or they may have wanted to reach the internal number of 10m consoles shipped in the calendar year and stuffed the channel.

In either case, your argument is inane and proves nothing beyond the fact that you are still a relentless Sony fanboy, no matter how many times you get banned.

Give it up... The 360 is still selling and beat its year-over-year sales.

again by the end of 2007 with having NO shortages (with cheaper price(then ps3) + 2 games) sold 8 mln.
