Forums - Sony - The Last of Us VGA trailer was In Game, proof inside.

The in-game engine was utilized in order to make that trailer. When it comes to the PS3, it is able to do things during non-playable cut-scenes that it simply cannot do during actual gameplay. So while it could be considered "in-game", it is a bit misleading. When we're eventually able to play that game, the actual level design cannot possibly look like that, unfortunately. It will look close, though, and will no doubt be an impressive feat.

How does a graphical engine work without a graphical processing unit ?

PS3 only does everything.

So excited!

I thought people had stopped believing in the cell as some sort of magical device that could do anything.

Seriously, why would they not use the specialised GPU for graphics processing? GPU's are very very good at what they do, not using it would be really rather stupid and would certainly not give you an improvement in graphics.

On the actual game, I'm intrigued (and not due to it being a rather handsome game, the searching for bullets gives me the feel it might be a true survival game which'd be nice).

Looks AMAZING. Very excited right now.

I wonder if this time you actually die when you get hit or you simply get colour-blind.

btw. At this time the gaming industry is so rich of ideas, both Epic Games and Naughty Dog have come up with basically the same game concept idea at the same time.

btw(2). I guess they have both watched recent Walking Dead ratings.

The game will not look as good in real time gameplay.

There's no doubt this will look good - every Uncharted game has looked amazing and given the engine is now very mature this should too easily.

I'd like to know more about the game, specifically how it will differentiate from the many similar seeming titles around. Character and narrative for sure I expect ND to propel easily past Resident Evil, Dead Island, etc. but still - the gameplay will need some differentiation as well.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I'm tired of hearing the vast majority say ''Omg,not another ZOMBIE game..''.
Where in Zeus's oblivion do you guys see zombies in that trailer?
This game looks EXACTLY like I Am Legend (2007),and the creatures are in no way zombies, but simply infected humans that can be CURED.That concept is nowhere near the one of a zombie.
