Forums - Sales - THQ slides 31 percent - poor uDraw sales.

It was weird that they thought they could relocate uDraw's fairly modest Wii success and make it better still on the PS360

THQ is going to be the first casualty of the 8th generation

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I can't see a way at this point in which they don't go bankrupt.

They should have pushed the Wii uDraw with softwares first, but got greedy and developed the PS3/360 versions.
The quickest rise and fall for them ever?

No big deal. THQ isn't relevant.

I used to love THQ when they made wrestling games for the N64.

I loved WCW/NWO Revenge.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I myself dont really see the draw of the UDraw but I hope they recover somewhat due to games sales. While they arent my fav. developers, I like them and hope they stick around.

THQ was just foolish to think that uDraw would perform as well on PS3/360 as it did on Wii. I mean its a totally different target audience. If I had been THQ I would have released a Kinect version of uDraw without the tablet draw with your hands, it could be alot like Microsoft's original drawing tech demo. The Kinect would be the perfect platform for a uDraw title without the tablet. As for the PlayStation 3 I would be hesitant to have released a uDraw title at all, maybe if Move had done better I would have suggested a Move based drawing game.

But if I had been in charge of uDraw their is no way in hell I would have brought the exact same product to the HD twins and expected it to sell gangbusters.

However I think THQ's new position where they are going to rely on fewer block buster titles rather then a dozen or two crappy lisensed titles and the odd higher quality title is probably smart. I have no doubt that THQ can turn things around by focusing on their core franchises building a reputation for higher quality games.

The next few games we know of that they are developing are just plain amazing. If THQ can change its image from a game company that releases tons of crappy games to a publisher that releases a few major hits each year, they can save the company. Also I think by shutting down their shitty studios and opening THQ Montreal and focusing on their higher end studios they are capable of effectively turning things around.

Plus I suspect WiiUdraw will do pretty good as a launch title for the WiiU. Not to mention THQ has hinted they want UbiSoft's current position as Nintendo's biggest third party supporter. If THQ could take UbiSoft out on Nintendo platforms they would have a major shot at riding Nintendo to recovery.

This is quite bad because it reduces chances of Relic doing "risky" title such as Homeworld 3 to almost zero instead we will probably get some more Dawn of War expansions.
