"According to Microsoft, their studio has inked a deal with film director Gore Verbinski, and his studio Blind Wink, to create Xbox 360 titles for 2012 and beyond.

The first project for Verbinski and Blind Wink is an unnamed Xbox Live Arcade game for Kinect, but the deal extends out to include other projects that may or may not appear on the 360. While the contract details are complex, Verbinski aims to create stellar, cinematic games for Microsoft and their console.

While Blind Wink has had little experience with games, the studio did produce Rango, which was critically acclaimed. Do you expect Verbinski to produce full Xbox 360 games, or stick to XBLA and use Kinect's features?"

What do you all think of this?

The last time Microsoft penned a deal with a Director to create Xbox 360 titles (Peter Jackson) the outcome was exactly: Nothing! Hopefully this time will be beter for them.

Well they could flop or turn into a modest developer. I see the former happening.

Interesting, the creative talent is there then, actually making a good game though, we'll have to wait and see.

Misleading title. There isn't any Microsoft penis here.

Yeah, 2d & 3d artists a plenty one would assume, they would be wise to hire some game producers etc though

Well 2 of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were watchable. Rango is said to be great. And then there is The Mexican which is just a really average movie.

Best of luck to Mr. Verbinski.
