How many tens of thousands of spells are cast in a skyrim game?

the one thing that would make kinect interesting for skyrim! Would be awsome, at least for the first few times you do it.

Figure out how to move around comfortably first, I'm not interested in Skyrim the on rails experience.
You can do all that stuff he wants in medieval moves, and as a consequence it's all on rails. I had hoped for a Kameo type game with motion controls, but no.
Rise of nightmares doesn't make me feel confident that it will happen any time soon.
It would be useful to assign different spells to different hand gestures, but having to put down the controller constantly is not going to work.

Figure out how to move around comfortably first?use controller

Kinect game dosen't mean you can only use Kinect to play

We'll need a new split controller first then, a nunchuck to hold in each hand. How else can you move and turn around quickly and use your hands to cast spells? That would probably be too difficult to do, make gestures while using a thumbstick.

Use 1 nunchuck and only cast with your right hand while you are restricted to 3rd person view with no camera control?

Use 1 nunchuck and headtracking for turning and looking up and down and have your right hand free? Seems annoying to me to constantly have to watch the screen from the corner of your eyes.

Or switch to a fight arena final fantasy style, meaning you have to put down the controller and stand up for each fight and be restricted to dodging and side stepping.

None of these sound very practical to me for a game as long as Skyrim. It will work when you are stationary (shooting spells, bows) but I do quite a bit of moving around while fighting.

you can't hold the controller with one hand to use magic then back to use two hands?

annoying?then why you play games?

Well I play Skyrim to relax. Motion sports/fitness/dance games when I feel like moving around.

Sure I can hold the controller with one hand to use magic then back to two hands but I'm not standing still while casting spells in Skyrim. I play a mage and need to keep my distance and dodge about everything that comes at me with my low health, while casting spells. That's 2 thumbsticks, directional keys to quickly switch between spells, jump button to clear obstacles while dodging and 2 spell buttons. Ergo I do not want to use my hands to cast spells in Skyrim.

This "imagine" shit needs to stop and just be incorporated in future games.

That said, I'm perfectly happy with my kinect the way it is now.

I am the black sheep     "of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong."-Robert Anton Wilson

I just wished he would make a Kinect game and proof it that it can work now he rather sound like a fanboy.

Doesn't actually fit with movement IMHO. You'd need to stand still essentially. With the new Kinect Fable I believe to solve this movement is more on rails - I personally don't think this fits. Sounds good, but taking all input considerations for Skyrim into account I don't think it would work at all well.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

That's actually a much better idea than Bleszinski's.  Fits perfectly with the action and could be performed easily while holding controller.

I actually wish developers would think more about the vocal input options vs the obvious motion input options - because ironically IMHO the vocal ones I think would apply more easily to more games than the motion ones.

Would fit less well with the marketing image mind.

..so we'll see, either the game proves me wrong or it proves kinect to be BS for the kind of games I want to play.  fun times, no?

OT - i've got about $1000 worth of wii/move hardware/software that prove my "antipathy" towards motion gaming in "core" titles is well justified.  either make a game that shuts me up or stfu yourself.  i'm just soo fucking tired of empty promises...
