Forums - General Discussion - Best movie of the year!

300 sucked i dont get it why so many people liked it. it was stupid with a bunch of bombastic performance from all the actors specially gerard butler. the look of it was dissorienthing and it looked like a videogame(i love videogames but i wanted to se a movie not a videogame) the cgi looked very fake and overall i hated it. 3/10 for me.

It's based off a comic book...it's supposed to look like that...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Curse of the Golden Flower
300
Transformers (I like classics)
I'm legend

Best movie this year was definately Transformers to me....just awesome!

300, American Gangster, Simpsons and Die Hard were great too.

Like what? A cross between a music video and gay porn?

My biggest problem with 300, apart from the fascist subtext, is that it would have been < 30m long if not for all the bloody slo-mo.

Best films of the year though were probably No Country For Old Men (even though it's not one of the Coen's best, it's a helluva step up from The Ladykillers) and Grindhouse (Deathproof was a massive step up from Kill Bill and Planet Terror was a riot).

Gone Baby Gone was a pleasant surprise, and Before the Devil Knows Your Dead was pretty awesome too (Carter Burwell's score is ace).

On a videogame related note, The King of Kong was the best documentary I've seen since Murderball.

Try to find the Graphic Novel and take a look...

First off, i'd like to hear what was so awful about Number 23!!! Grrr!!

Well I have only seen the advert on telly, but here are a few reasons it is my worst film of the year:

1. 2 divided by 3 does not equal .666. And has nothing to do with the number 23.

2. The numbers in 9/11/2001 do not add up to 23. They add up to 2021.

And thats just the advert...

I don't remember the answer to the first one, but i'm pretty sure there is.

On the second one, he just doesn't count the zeros, he says in the movie: 9+11+2+1=23.

Yeah, that is bad, cheesy maths. Bad, cheesy maths definitely gets a 1/10 for me.

Well Pan's Labyrinth came out in 2007 in the UK. It says 2007 on the back of my DVD.

2/3= .666666666666666666666666666666666666666

23 , 2 3 , 2/3= .666

Doesn't make much sense, but at least the first part of the movie was ok...

Edith: El laberinto del fauno, was released in Oct of 2006, re-released in Xmas of 2006
