No, because Apple would charge like a grand for it.

I know 3D is still alive and well but I think the super-mega-insane hype it had (when Avatar first came out) is gone. Even if an iPad 3D was released at a reasonable price I think it would do no better than a regular iPad 3 would.

I don't like too much the idea of a 3D touch screen, won't you kill the 3D effect touching the screen??

Would the glasses free effect work on such a large screen? If it did, you'd have to hold it very still, right? What if you try to use it? Will it mess up the 3D?

Putting my fingers on the screen while playing is what puts me off the most when I imagine gaming on a device with mainly touch screen input (I can imagine a few games actually being playable and even best with it, but it would be a niche, not the majority). I find instead touch input appealing when it doesn't use the main screen, that is in brilliant solutions like DS/3DS and PSVita. I find touch screen on the main screen acceptable for purely practical uses, when I haven't to feel involved, so excluding games, movies and many other multimedia applications, although acceptable doesn't automatically mean that it be the ideal input method, it depends from case to case.

I dont think the ipad 2  will sell more than the 3ds when its all said and done.

Mayby it will sell more, don't know that marked to well, and think they have to drop the price, and add buttons to get gamers.  But sure it will get 3d, and sell well, i think. Samsung and other will get it to... Nintendo said it...?

Back in the days. Nintendo did the vireless wavebird controller.. and analog.

Before ipod and when apple still was a fruit, they startet the touch generation. Now all devices has touch mp3 player, touch internet, and touch games . The 2 cams. They said, now it's gyro and motion, and mii's...:)  And Virtual console startet the "app's gen"

Even this.. the ipad is a natural next step, from dsi-xl.. big and portable.

zynga started making "nintendo" games for Facebook and the rest is history.

The ones who makes dollars in this world.. are the ones who do what nintendo does...

Like most people I don't think Apple would ever do that.

But even if they did it -would- fail, and miserably at that. The people who buy iPads are people who like technology (like gadgets) as a whole, not gaming. Or people like a Grandma wanting to FaceTime with her Children and Grandkids or a Person running a business who needs something portable. Ultimately it would fail.

Apple can never lose if you compare one of their models selling against another competitor's product considering a lot of Apple fans buy every new iteration no matter how little the change.  Not only is it an unfair comparison to begin with (tablet vs hand held) but it is even more so if you factor in your stipulations.
