39: Krushi (Intelligent Qube to you N/Aers)

funny advert for the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=Ca7334RiITY

I played Intelligent Cube many times on a demo disc. I think it had 4-5 stages. It was very fun and you felt really bright when you managed to pass a level "under par". I rented it and got through the game that weekend, I never bought it though, I didn't think it would have enough replay value.

It did lack replay value but I was too thick to get past level 5 :D but still a great game none the less.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

It did feature great "running on stone floor" sound effects.

#38. Super Castlevania IV (SNES, VC)

I've been a fan of the Castlevania series for a very long time, I actually started with Simon's Quest (which I loved but it didn't make my Top 50) but Super Castlevania IV really left a lasting impression on me. It's a very early SNES title but it looks very good. Simon Belmont looks positively badass and he has learned to swing his whip in all directions which makes fighting birds and medusa heads slightly less aggravating. The level design is varied , the bosses are cool and the fight against Dracula is the best in the series.

Now, you can't mention Super Castlevania IV without talking about the incredible music. It's simply perfect, moody, well adapted to every stage. Tracks like Simon's Theme, Bloody Tears and Vampire Killer will stay in your head for days but you won't mind because they kick ass.

Hated that game, I remember going to the games store and buying that game. After 3hrs or so I was continuously raped by the monsters and  the effin difficulty. Since then I never played another castlevania  (this was my first) except the one on the N64 which was kind of fun :)

Play Symphony of the Night.

I like, but I am not a huge fan of the original platforming Castlevania games, but I absolutely love the 'Metroidvania' styled games (well I've only played SotN).  It's well worth a PSN/XBLA download or a purchase of an original copy.

Metroid Prime 2 is my 38. I felt this game was easily the worst of the Prime games (barring the Hunters spinoff), but being the worst of the best franchise still puts it up pretty high

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You made me realize I forgot the mention the difficulty, which is a big plus in my mind. Castlevanias is a very unforgiving series but it's part of the fun. Trying to conquer a level after it kicked your ass for the 8th time, remembering that those platforms flip over when you jump on them, walking in between spike plates in the underground level, it all adds up and gives you a greater feeling of accomplishment when you finish the game.

Also, the NES games are much harder than this one.

This is my 38.

This is fun for some reason I am excited to go home and put my next game though I doubt anyone is even paying attention :P

#38 - MotorStorm (PS3)

The very first game I bought and played this gen, and it was fantastic, and beautiful (real time, persistent mud deformation!). It's aged fast, ofc, and it had almost no lasting appeal, so this'll slip down the list quite quickly over the years, but it was great for its time and I'll always have fond memories of playing it.

It did have bad loading times for its time though. Sadly I only borrowed this and didn't beat the whole campaign, while I did platinum Pacific Rift and Apocalypse and beat Arctic Edge.

Holy crap, 38... I'm going to have to do a mass update this weekend.
