Sony meant shipped 3.8m Day 1 but VG247 got confused. This is absolutly amazing number, Batman shipped 4 million on 2 platforms. Now only GT, GTA and COD will be bigger sellers on PS3 then Uncharted.

Gotta be shipped surely? The notice of set to be best selling confirms it's up on U2 launch. The 3.8 million must be to retail WW to cover launch plus holiday season I'd have thought. Even then that's a lot shipped. Wonder if it's selling better than the site can see in the more far flung bits of EMEAA?

well batman shipped 4.6m,and i think Skyrim also have chance

since VGC don't really care about Batman:AC shipment(4.6/1.8=2.8 on shelves),i think we need to wait(like NPD Novemeber for USA=next month)

Obviously when a company says sold they mean they sold, meaning shipped. There's no errors or conspiracy there it always happens.

It's a great number. How long does a first day shipment usually last? Could it be undertracked or is it normal for the stock to last months?

3.8 million is total shipped copies to retailers.
1 million copies of the Uncharted 3 were sold by retailers to consumers in its first week.
The remaining 2.8 million inventory should be sold before the end of 2011: Black Friday and Xmas holiday sales period.

Great numbers even though these are shipped numbers. Should easily outship U2.
