I find this part particularly impressive, given the userbase of the 3DS compared to say, the Wii userbase when SMG2 launched.

That's true, it could have been the new NSMB (lol) with a bigger userbase. Will surely have better legs than SMG2 too with the holiday approaching and the growing userbase.

Another factor to add is that this is not a full week sales for SM3dLAND, its 4 days.
