Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U will support two controllers finally

4 Tablets is unlikely to ever happen due to the processing power and bandwidth requirements; while it would be possible to get around these it would result in a more expensive system and/or controllers ... 2 Tablets is plausible though.

From my experience 2 tablets would be the correct configuration ... With the Wii I recommended people buy 3 additional Wiimotes and 1 additional nunchuck because (from my experience) most of the time you played a 4 player game you only used Wiimotes; while games with more complicated controls were often limited to 2 players.

Even on the HD consoles, few games support 4 player local multi-player ...

It is (somewhat) unfortunate though because I believe one of the greatest potential benefits of gigantic-screen HD displays would be 6 player local multi-player games.

X-Men (PS3 version) says hi ;)

It'll most likely support 2-4

We need Cube controller support via usb.
Also 4 tablet control so everyone has their own screen.

I know there are plenty of people that love the GCN controllers.  I suppose that the CCP isn't good enough for a basic controller?  I know the GCN controller is good but it is only marginally better than the CCP.  I don't even own a CCP (just 2 regular CC) and I still think the CC is decent enough for my VC needs (I don't use CC for FPS Wii shooters considering there is a better option with Wiimote/nunchuck).  I didn't even use the CC for MH3 and I stuck with the Wiimote/nunchuck control scheme.

CC is cool. Never used CCP but I must assume that its just a more comfortable version of the CC. Still, I have to digress and say that the Cube controller is perfect for certain games, Smash Brothers comes to mind here. I just could never do Smash Bros ny good with a CC. And not only that, the Cube controller became the standard for two Smash Brothers games and two Mario Kart games which millions of people owned. Now I'm sure that using the Pad controller for Mario Kart will be fine since it'll be easy to adjust to. The learning curve for that game is very small, easy to learn. But configuring a new control scheme to a game like Smash Brothers? I'm not convinced. I won't make any abosolute statements now since I have yet to even see some of the Wii U games, but I do believe Nintendo is being a bit lazy here. Come now, If the Wii disc drive can play both Wii and Gamecube games, and the Wii U drive can play both Wii U and Wii games, whats stopping the great engineers behind the Wii U from coding it to play Gamecube games? I just had to vent sorry haha!

I have to admit that I never used anything but the GC controllers for Brawl.  However, I did use the nunchuck/wiimote combo for Kart and I liked that control setup.  I don't think I ever used the wavebirds for Kart.

Exactly the same for me. See the Wii U is a make it or break it for me. Man I really want that 4 Pad setup. But Zelda and Mario HD omg I have to have it :(

I dont think your going to get it, unless Ninty was willing to sell and you are willing to buy an expensive ass console

wish it could do four, if its not possible then 2 is better. Either way it sounds like the console has to be pretty powerful if they are fighting just to get two on it

I'm sorry but I think you are making no sense right there.

So the PS3 can connect to 7 Bluetooth devices, but the next gen Wii U only supports 2 tabs!?

Firstly, I'm not trolling - I'm serious.

Secondly, doesn't it depend on the data transfer between the console and the tab? Meaning that it's up to the dev to get it to work with the amount of tab's they desire? I mean come on it's common sense. Why would Ninty block this.

Thirdly, if Wii U is to be very successful then I want to take my tab to my friends house and enjoy some wickedly original 4 (or more!) player games. THAT'S WHAT IT SHOULD BE ABOUT GDMNIT!
