Actually, that sentence of yours is correct. The subject is "VGC and the sites I've been visiting" which may sound strange, because it contains verbs, but alternately the subject could be "VGC and others".

However, a comma is missing in the previous sentence. There should be one after "mistakes".

Then again, I follow similar grammar rules as in German when it comes to commas, so it's possible that I am mistaken every now and then. But honestly, a lack of commas rarely matters. Only sometimes it leads to a different meaning than the intended one. I'll give you an example. Somebody says that all Nintendo fans are smart. I want to disagree, so I say: "No, Nintendo fans are stupid."

Leave the comma out and suddenly it becomes agreement: "No Nintendo fans are stupid."

You (originally) had the following spelling mistakes: "acknoledge, conclusion". Who knows which other ones you have edited out.

Not to mention that,

 If you didn't remember it should be be 'article' then that is also pretty poor from your side. Also, seems like you're trying pretty hard to write well-constructed sentances in that post, but you end up only managing to overcook most of them.

So my conclusion is that your "beautiful brain" is perhaps not as wondrous as you think. You asked for it.

OT: Most forum based internet surfing rewires the brain in a non-desirable way. More important than spelling and grammar mistakes (which really isn't a big deal at all), is that most people don't have the ability to build a logic structure in the posts they make at all - worst is when a whole thread starts off without a some proper reasoning (like the "One problem with Uncharted 3" thread recently).

In any case, what do you expect? Most people are pretty dumb/uneducated. Not to mention that this is an anonymous videogame forum with a lot of teenagers.

I was pretty amazed by the "What's your IQ" thread recently. The scores posted by the users were just way too high. Those internet tests are worthless.

If you create a list of something you quote, each section of text should be quoted, you can't form the list within quote marks. You also corrected Jay520's mistake within the quote and missed his misspelling of misspelled.* Therefore this: "following spelling mistakes: "acknoledge, conclusion"." Should have been this: "following spelling mistakes: "acknoledge"; "conlusion" and "mispelled"."

I don't see too much problem with the sentence: "due to posters being natural to another language, ignorance, or just plain laziness". I agree that using "natural to another language" is perhaps not specific enough as it is possible to be natural to multiple languages, but it gets the point across. There is also nothing wrong with continuing the sentence with "ignorance" and "plain laziness". Both the OP and your versions work, depending on where you interpret the start of the list from before or after "being".

Here would be your example:
1. Posters being natural to another language.
2. Posters being ignorant.
3. Posters being lazy.

Here is Jay520's:
1. Posters being natural to another language.
2. Posters ignorance.
3. Posters plain laziness.

Finally you also misspelled sentences, but as with Jay520, simple spelling errors like that are often just typing errors

I am sure there will be many faults to point out in what I have wriiten here too, hopefully most of them will be due to weird and now archaic traits of English grammar, likely involving rules about commas and semi-colons. I generally don't stress over other posters spelling or grammar mistakes too much unless I have to read through a sentence again just to understand it.

You are correct about the semi-colon, my apologies.

No I did not mean "quote quoting marks". You were originally quoting mistakes made by Jay520, you made a list of two mistakes which in his text were separate, then you put quote marks around the pair, thus you formed the list of his mistakes within quote marks.

And no, it should in fact be "Posters'..." because it is the plural possesive, so we were both wrong. (My excuse is that the mistake was originally made by Jay520 himself )

It wasn't that I didn't like the idea of your post, I could tell (though it can be difficult to over teh interwebz) that your intention was more satirical than simply to correct Jay520's mistakes... I just wanted to continue what could become a neverending tunnel of quotes if we let it.

Given that English is not your first language, you are a good example of how poor the education system in the UK is for language. Many British people have trouble with English grammar, and on top of that would probably stuggle to count to ten in French. (I know a little French, but wouldn't be able to get by in France without a phrase book, and my German is limited to counting to 10, and being able to say "I love you")
