I always hesitate about commas and when to use them. I think I'll work on that once I am done with my spelling.

Actually, that sentence of yours is correct. The subject is "VGC and the sites I've been visiting" which may sound strange, because it contains verbs, but alternately the subject could be "VGC and others".

However, a comma is missing in the previous sentence. There should be one after "mistakes".

Then again, I follow similar grammar rules as in German when it comes to commas, so it's possible that I am mistaken every now and then. But honestly, a lack of commas rarely matters. Only sometimes it leads to a different meaning than the intended one. I'll give you an example. Somebody says that all Nintendo fans are smart. I want to disagree, so I say: "No, Nintendo fans are stupid."

Leave the comma out and suddenly it becomes agreement: "No Nintendo fans are stupid."

What an example! lol.

After reading the informative posts given here, I will misuse commas less.

I remember the creator of Esperanto , talking about why he chose certain languages to base Esperanto off and he mentioned German for its strict grammar, he also mentioned English , but I can't remember what its strength was now .

You (originally) had the following spelling mistakes: "acknoledge, conclusion". Who knows which other ones you have edited out.

Not to mention that,

Should be incoherent.

'Natural' to another language is not correct.

Another mistake. Should be ignorant and lazy.

 If you didn't remember it should be be 'article' then that is also pretty poor from your side. Also, seems like you're trying pretty hard to write well-constructed sentances in that post, but you end up only managing to overcook most of them.

So my conclusion is that your "beautiful brain" is perhaps not as wondrous as you think. You asked for it.

 

OT: Most forum based internet surfing rewires the brain in a non-desirable way. More important than spelling and grammar mistakes (which really isn't a big deal at all), is that most people don't have the ability to build a logic structure in the posts they make at all - worst is when a whole thread starts off without a some proper reasoning (like the "One problem with Uncharted 3" thread recently).

In any case, what do you expect? Most people are pretty dumb/uneducated. Not to mention that this is an anonymous videogame forum with a lot of teenagers.

I was pretty amazed by the "What's your IQ" thread recently. The scores posted by the users were just way too high. Those internet tests are worthless.

It helps not to make simple mistakes when critiquing some one , like spelling sentences as  sentances , good grammar and spelling while admirable pretty quickly fall prey to haste and not all of us ,  have time to proof read our work especially while posting on a forum ,also a lot of intelligent people are just standard or substandard at reading and comprehension , I know I am.

grrr! Let this thread die already. You people are exposing more and more of my stupidity. Just stop, please!

BTW, I wasn't referring to small, individual mistakes like mispelling a word or missing a comma. I was mainly referring to when a poster's entire post is a mess showing no regard for even the most basic rules. For instance, when I read a sentence like this:

"i just played thru Uncharted baby it was awsume u ppl need 2 get out in play it now"

These are things that really get to me:
- Intentionally shortening words.
- Completely ignoring the use of punctuation marks. (I hate this!)
- Not using capital letters. (espescially at the start of sentences)

Things like that which actually make a post nearly impossible to read is the inspiration for this thread. I'm actually okay with spelling errors as long as they don't ruin the sentence. Yeah, I know I used a spelling error as an example in my OP, but that was really on my mind at the time.

AGREED.

All in all, spelling and grammar aren't a big deal imo. What is a big deal (as I've said before) is bad logic.
