Forums - Gaming - R*: GTA V 'our largest and most ambitious game'. Bold new direction. Locations confirmed.

I wonder what this 'bold new direction' is.

Sounds more like political commentary than a game based around organized crime and gangs.  It sounds like it will probably have business overtones.  It may offer people the possibility to work and totally transform the entire city, based on the choices they make.

I would buy it even if it was the same as GTA 4

I thought the trailer looked quite good and I'm pleased to see R* making an attempt to freshen things up. How 'bold' and 'radical' it will be who knows (doubtless there is a bit of hype making going on there) but I think this could be something special as oppossed to the complete mess and utter waste of time that was IV.

Bold new direction obviously means Wii U exclusive. Now that would be bold.

and it would also be a flop

It'll come with an auction house and will require always-connected bold new DRM by R*.

"Bold, new direction." I don't like the sound of that. Not because I mind new thinking but because of the direction GTA IV was starting to take the series and I fear this could be an all out continuation of that.

So while I am a bit disappointed that there is no San Fierro or Las Venturas, that didn't say it was only in Los Santos....

But so long as there is countryside I am okay (though I would love it if the other cities were either in the game, or DLC)

As for the bold new direction, let's just see what happens rather than reading too much into PR

the biggest GTA but only in Los Santos...but the cities in San Andreas werent that super big maybe its really a 1 to 1 Los Angeles + countryside...but still i think many people will miss Las Venturas & San Fierro...cause i think you will be definatly getting the old San Andreas feel sometimes...but hey im so excited and hope that its realeasing around summer 2012...that makes 2012 even bigger again...

Re-read the press release. It says "southern california", Las Vegas and San Francisco aren't in Souther California

The obvious thing they will do is perhaps add San Fierro and Las Ventura as DLC later on.
