wow, recognizing largely terrorist groups now, are we UN?
if we didnt need any more proof that the UN is a giant socialist agency hell bent on destroying anything and everything the democracy and capitalism stands for, (basically the antithesis of what the US was founded on).
the UN needs to die

Please. The UN exists in part only to legitimize American global policy, as well as those of the other victorious Allied powers of the second world war (hence the security council). The organization would have to be fundamentally reformed before it could ever hope to take a stance against neo-Imperialist abuses, as it is the security council keeps it paralyzed from being able to enact positive reform in anything but the most common-sense cases (like food aid to Somalia), and the quick breach of consensus amongst the old Allied Powers means that the Security Council itself is fundamentally paralyzed unless certain members abstain (as in the Korean War)

All these Americans who wail about the UN as some sort of socialist bogey-man that somehow poses some sort of insidious threat make me laugh

Well actually, if you follow UN politics closely enough... which I mean you should based on your Major....

you should know that's EXACTLY what the UN General assembly and in general outside councils are, except the UN security council.

The Israeli ambassador is really named Nimrod?

How fitting.

Now the US is entirely entitled to use its money as it sees fit, however Americans of conscience should protest the moronic (Nimrod) law that was put in place by our overpowered Israel lobby

idk...he doesnt seem much like a king or a hunter...

Makes you wonder about the philological evolution of the word from its Hebrew meaning to its currently English colloquial equivalency to "idiot."

Nimrod was a Hebrew king who went against god and paid for it.

So, probably not as much of a leap as you'd think.

Congratulations to Palestine!

I'm ashamed that my country is one of the fourteen that voted against Palestine though. Considering that 85% of the citizens of this country are for palestinian statehood, I even consider this a proof that our democracy is completely flawed.

Get your head out of Bibi's ass, Angela!

the reason is our bad history with the jews. if we wouldn't have that history we wouldn't do everything israel want us to do. our politicians are just to coward to do what they think in this case.

for me it's a good sign. it's not only about the whole israel/palestine thing, it's about giving palestine the chance to become a better place and i can't believe what the usa is doing. i  mean wow it's the unesco just because they don't do everything the usa wants the usa is cutting the money and trying to show the muscles?

no, the whole world doesn't do what you want because you are usa and i hope this will be a sign for the future.

don't misunderstood me i have nothing gainst america i wouldn't be in this forum then, i just don't like how your politicians try to dictate everybody on this planet what they have to do vice versa other countries don't try to dictate your lifes. you aren't the world police even if you think so it's nice to have you for military operations or so if the nato thinks it's time to do something but every country has to decide if something has to be done not only you (and the nato isn't the world police as well)

I really don't understand why so many people are in support of the nationhood of a country led by a designated terrorist organisation and an admittedly peaceful organisation which wants to merge with a terrorist organisation and openly admits to wanting to destroy another sovereign nation.

In ten years, we'll just have another Iraq on our hands, and somehow American imperialism will be blamed again.

Yes, but it was designed such that meaningful action could not occur without the unanimous consent of the UN Security Council 5 (unless the Soviet Union abstains), so ultimately it sits as the ultimate status quo power

The general will of the post-colonial majority of countries leans to the left, but they ultimately have no say in the matter except in small gestures like this UNESCO thing

Though I wouldn't say that was nessisairly a bad thing.  How security council permancy was decided was, but really, if it wasn't for it, the small countries would just gang up on larger more successful countries, leading to said countries breaking from the UN and the whole thing falling apart anyway.

Oh boohoo, guess we'll have to go without the US's contributions to education and science then!

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

You remind me of Hitler. He was against Jews and you are against Muslims and I can feel that same hatred.

Some of the pictures I would like you to see. May be you have some sort of humanity left.

Hmm that means that 20% can be used to actually fix something in the usa itself

Well, I am happy my country voted yes.
