Forums - Nintendo - Iwata Meeting: New Pokemon next spring?, Wii U final version next E3

I wonder if the new Pokemon game will launch in the spring or be announced in the spring.

As for the phone and PC compatability of the eShop it seems pointless to me. Why would I use my phone to purchase content for my 3DS if that content can only be played on my 3DS? Wouldn't it be far easier just to access eShop from my 3DS and download the software directly? Where is the point in using a cell phone or PC?

When I first saw the announcement I shuttered the title read Nintendo was supporting PC and Phones with eShop. Originally I thought this meant putting Nintendo's first party software on third party devices. I was relieved to find out they weren't but puzzled as to what benefit it will provide to be able to access the eShop with your PC or Phone?

I wonder if the downloadable content for games will be stored on the gamecarts themselves. Anyone got any info?

Let's go with common sense. It'll be downloaded to SD card.

Game cards are mostly ROM (read-only) with a tiny bit of space (re-writeable) for game saves.

yeah but It would be cool if it did that.

It does not make logical sense. How are you going to plan how much space a future dlc will take?

You're also going to limit the number of dlc. Let's say you planned for 2 dlc but ended up wanted more as things.

What about those that ended up not buying dlc. That's a lot of wasted space.

It'll still be cool though (on the consumer side)

Its also what the Vita actually does, if the developer wants it too, so dont write it off working like that or at least being an option on the 3DS too.

No. Vita does not do that. It's just some fans assuming. Game cards provides save slots, not space for future dlc.

Shit, another big hole for Nintendo's home console in 2012.

They very well could provide space on the cards, but as you said, it would be limited, since how can you know what kind of DLC you want to make?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I hope the final version of the Wii U console would actually look interesting the console we have now looks extremely bland. It needs more colour and pretty lights. Not just plain white, how boring. I love the controller though.

Which goes right back to the original point. Why would they leave extra space that cost them money when it may or may not be used? Offset that cost to the end user in the from on SD memory/etc.

These points give me hope that maybe Nintendo will life to the expectations. That is, if they can find the right people to work with.

If they want a successful launch, and now I'm going to adopt Rol's position, they only need launch the WiiU with the New Super Mario Bros game that was demoed at E3 this year.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I can't wait to see WiiU next year. I hope they rename it.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

The ability to download things in sleep mode, the greater accessibility and the arrival of demo's are all good things but I'm sad to see the arrival of DLC. The fact is 99% of dlc is stuff that should be/can be in the game but is withheld from the players simply to extort more money from us. Th only only good dlc in the past couple of years has been The Lost & The Damned/Ballad Of Gay Tony and Undead Nightmare. I only hope Nintendo themselves do not succumb to this disease. If Mario Kart 8 (or MK Wii U or whatever its called) only has 16 tracks and another 16 are released as DLC (just an example) the only pastime I'll be left with is reading.
