Do you see those moovies(amazing games) on PS3? THEY ARE NOT JUST RELEASED YET. NO GAMES - NO SALES.

This is soo simple.

600$ for 5 years = 60 month = 10$ per month. I DON`T SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE. :)

Kytiara: yeah, 660$ is more then 360$. But like i said 10-11$ for GREAT experience, is not much.

People will pay ANY reasonable price, just to play FFXIII, MGS4, GT5, FFXIIIv, KZ2, HS, LBP, Uncharted, Lair, 2! Team Ico games, Folklore, G3, NGS, GoW3, MS2, R&C, 8 days, Factor 5 - Turricane, Wardevil and so on.

It`s not about LIST, x360, Wii also will have good games, my POINT - that true GAMER won`t ignore such amazing exclusive PS3 games.

i believe the xbox 360 will get at least 17m by the end of 2007. There will be lots of great games coming for the 360 ( halo 3 for instants) which will increase the 360's sales dramaticly. The Xbox 360 will be first, 17m, Wii will be second with 16m, and PS3 will be last with 8m. Wii will surpass the xbox 360 in spring of 2008 because sales for 360 will be high even after the holidays because of halo 3, but wii's sales will still be insane.

Mexico to be exact, i dont work full time because im studying a master degree, but i have an income and live on a budget, The PS3 sells for 1000 dollars or more here in Mexico, and the wii for like 350 dollars... I was really lucky to be one of the 40 people that got a Wii at McAllen Texas' circuit city ( i went on a road trip just to get the wii, me and my other 5 friends) being in line for 7 or so hours, I spent 600 dollaras + taxes on everything I got for it, $250 game console, $200 for 4 games (5 if we count wii sports, zelda, call of duty, marvel ultimate alliance and Dragon Ball Z budokai tenkaichi 2) , $30 for a travel bag, $120 for two extra wiimotes and nunchuks... If I anted to get comparable things for the Ps3, it would have been 600 for the console, 300 for 5 games, 100 for two extra controllers, and $30 for a travel bag ( i dont know how much those rfun for so i gave it the same price even though it would use a lot more fabric hehe) thats $1030 dollars plus taxes and there even ere not 5 games at Ps3 launch that i would get. For the money I spent on my wii i would have gotten a very sad ps3 with no games... And dont get me wrong, I love good graphics but I think that with really good artistic direction like Zelda twilight princess and Resident Evil 4, Gamecube games are really impressive. and I'm fine with it. I have a HDTV set which is by no means a standard in my country, but i really see no necessity to buy a blu ray player since all my movie collection is in DVD... I dont plan on upgrading it either... I guess you could all say that I have a lifestyle closer to that of the United States, and you might be right but truth is i worked really hard and have a life without many luxuries to be able to buy my videogames... I remember the old snes and N64 days when i had not many games, now i have 20 plus for gamecube and 8 for wii... Money is really less an issue than it was before for dedicated gamers, but I still think that 600 dollars for the PS3 and 60 dollars per game is very expensive and despite the fact that PS3 games are really not for me, I would have a hard time getting to buy it if I was a Sony gamer... I dont think I'd buy it until the prince dropped to at least 350 dollars... Xbox is doing really great in Mexico, since its been introduced officially, priced competitively and having both perfect Dark and Project Gotham Racing as a pack in...

Even if somehow the PS3 did start magically increasing its sales figures with Lair, MGS4, and Heavenly Sword. I don't even think that Sony could produce as many systems as you guys are claiming they could by the end of the year. Tell me if I am wrong, but haven't they only shipped 4 million units. I think supply constraints would kick in sooner than they would be able to sell even 9 mill. (I know they can increase production though)

First off, please stop saying $600/5 years.  That is just ignorant.  You're not counting a bevy of costs from games to tax to controllers/accessories and other stuff.  So that is not exactly accurate.

Even if we were going to do that, we could say:

360:  $400/5 years = $6.67/month

Wii:  $250/5 years = $4.16/month

But again, this is a waste of time so no need for it.

And I think the word "reasonable" is key.  Yes, a lot of people will pay a "reasonable" price for many of the games you mention (not all of them for sure though).  What do you consider "reasonable"?  I think it is a lot different from what most game system buyers consider "reasonable."  Consider that PS2 had massive sales at the sub-$200 level, as did PS1.  How many people are willing to shell out a minimum of $660 for even an awesome game?  That's about three times more than most are used to paying...

And don't give us this crap about "true gamers" are willing to bend over for Sony's high prices.  Not all of us are so rich we can buy whatever we want. 

I dont see how the 360 can hit 17million this year, i think 13.5 is where it HAS to top out.

Wareagle, wii is having an equally great lineup this year, (Super Smash Bros.  brawl for instants) and from the levels the has been having on usually slow moths I can't see how MS would end up being WW sales leader by the end of this year... I still think they will lead America for a good while, but japan will be the boost for Nintendo in worldwide sales to surpass the 360 in 2007 

I think they have produced/shipped 5.5 million consoles, but since les than 70% of those have been sold to end users, they have slowed down their production numbers thus making it kind of improbable they will get anything near 10 million consoles before years end, they still have to sell the excess 2 mi llion they have in stock right now for starters.

cebrian: so how much x360 premium cost in your country, and do you have x360 elite - also how much it costs? ok, but after like 2 years, when ps3 will cost 400$, you still won`t buy it ? And do you know, how much 100k PS3 consoles in USA cost ? 60 mln. $. And it`s average ps3 slaes in usa, so i mean peopel spent money on consoles. === DarkD by the end of october 2006 only ~6 mln x360 was sold worldwide. ps3 has 5 month, now only with 3,5 mln worldwide, why you people think, it won`t make another 2,5 mln. when during that time will be released games like: NGS Folklore Everybody Golf 5 Lair Heavenly Sword Warhawk Singstar Socom Confrontation Grand Theft Auto IV PS Home Unreal T3 Eye of judgement Assasin`s Creed Colin McRae Dirt I mean, x360 didn`t have so much really amazing games(you may think that those are average games, but then try to match for every of those games, which will be released on ps3 during june-october 2007 with games released during june-october 2006 on x360). ===

360 - 14 mil

PS3 - 6 mil

For all you other people with all these high PS3 numbers that are crazy! Give me a break 10-11 million those numbers are nearly impossible.
