you seem to be a bit deluded. You think just because you are amazed by PS3's graphics and have bought the hype of their "target renders" that everyone else will pay "any money" for these games.

The truth is even with a user base of 100 million people, only 5 million bought Final Fantasy XII. The number of people who will pay $600 for Final Fantasy XIII would not make up the current deficit in sales with the Wii if it was released tomorrow.

And, most people around the world seem to agree with me, which is why the PS3 is performing well below expectations and will continue to perform below expectations until people lower their expectations to meet it.

It's funny to seem some of the predictions though. LOL at the guy who thought the PS3 would still be selling 25k/week in Japan and 160k/month in the USA. In light of recent data, I wonder how many would change their predictions?

Yeah, it is amazing, Joe. Every few days, someone will post something akin to: "The Wii is just a fad," or "The PS3 will start making up ground soon," or something similar. And yet Wii sales continue to increase (as supply increases), and PS3 sales go down, and down, and down. I don't doubt that at some point in the next 6 years, the Wii will not be outselling the PS3 to this extent, but it's funny to see so many people -- even expert analysts -- keep getting it wrong.

This month the fad ends! The PS3 begins its ascent! Then nothing.

I think the problem is that people don't understand historical averages, momentum, and the strength of software. Which is exactly why I created the W/W H/W prediction league. I was, by far, the lowest predictor for the PS3 at 7.75m units by Dec. 31. It looks like I might win that one pretty handily, hehe :) Of course, we must understand that with as much as that we want to dog the PS3, it could easily change in 6 months. Wii demand could be met and done with in the US and/or Europe, and have another major system start leading. Or not. Who knows. It can change quickly.

I think I am the only on these forums that think 360 is going not going to get passed up this year??? Halo 3 and GTA 4 are going to push more units than any other game this year (on a console, so that means no Pokemon). That won't the 360 a big lead, but it will help not gte itself passed.

Well, if you have halo 3 and GTA IV (non exclusive) for x360, then we have supermash bros brawl and mario galaxy for wii... I know its a matter of opinion and choice but they all have sold more than 5 million copies on their previous iterations (smash bros being a launch title and all).  By the way, i just registered for the forums but have been reading you all guys for a long time.

mmm... i like those numbers, it will be probably like that, if no price cut coming to x360 or ps3, and MGS4 + Killzone 2 are not coming this year. However, GT5 prologue may come this year.. =) And yeah, some hype about GTA4. This somehow should really effect sales, boost x360 sales, if GTA4 will be same on x360 and ps3. Boost ps3 sales, if it will be better on ps3(no load times for example, some blu-ray space usage). This is soo unpredictable.

2omgwtfbbq, well, many people buy console just for 1 game. And if you are not going to buy ps3 for LOTS of amazing games, then you just don`t care much about games. But other people WILL. :P =)

lots of people? I'm only seeing 3 million PS3 sales... I don't know how that's lots of people. Lots of people will pay $200 for a lot of games, that's why the PS2 was the victor last generation

Welcome Cebrian... CrazzyMan: While I agree many people buy a console for one game to start, there is a big difference between a console previous to this generation and the PS3. If you plan on buying a PS3 for one specific game, you are looking at a $660 USD price tag, at least. More if you live someplace with various taxes, or if you want a second controller, or two games. It is not an insignificant amount of money for most people. Yes, there is a specific demographic that this would not be a problem for: Youngish single people with lots of disposable income. However, most people are either too young to have this sort of disposable cash, or have other commitments to just drop $660 for one game. Also, implying that if you aren't buying a PS3, you don't care about games is just silly.
