Forums - Gaming - Anyone excited about the new Nokia WP7 devices?

The 2 phones they announced today look great but are not enough for me to consider upgrading from LG optimus 7. However if they get around to releasing this monster in time for us launch in 2012...im so getting it.

Yeah, that baby does look to have incredible specs. I just wish they'd bring N9-like design to it, because the device itself looks a bit standard fare.

EDIT: Plus, getting NFC will probably be important if you want a phone with longevity. Microsoft already showed they're using NFC in Windows 8, so WP7 and W8 communication should be interesting!

I agree, its a little bland. Who knows maybe its all fake or maybe its a design concept...

I've been reading a lot of things on my WP's RSS news feeds. Nokia apparently can't really show its true POWER...till Apollo update comes out. :P

Meh. Don't like those tiles at all. I wish N9 was available here.

Looking good so far but I want to see what comes after these phones.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Yeah, I saw that as well. I think I'm just going to buy a cheap first generation phone for now and wait until something a little more special comes out.

The 2 Nokia windows phones are pure sex. I don't care for "oh me gee.. no dual core!", this thing is fast!

For now I'll stick to my iPhone but I will surely consider it the app market is big enough, which is happening soon.

I agree with that first point. It might be helpful in the future, but for now, the battery is more important, especially as Windows Mobile doesn't really do multitasking

I really really love the look, especially with the bright colours, which really does make them stand out from the smartphone crowd. However, I am basically stuck with Android, as I use Google for everything, so getting a M$ phone seems a little silly. I also didn't like the look of Nokia maps, google maps, one of my favourite features on my phone and tablet, seems far better

So basically, I think that they have done a great job designing them, but it is still Windows Phone, and I would rather have a nice new Android phone made by Sony now!

It does to Mutlitasking with mango. Howeer it still chokes the app and it doesn't run...just freezes so you can continue when you're ready to go back to it. But I've installed a 3rd party app which gives it true multitasking when needed (and kills the battery faster much like android devices). So it can be done...

Everything else you said is a valid personal opinion and preference.

I hate Nokia phones,HTC FTW!

Sorry, that is what I meant about multitasking, it does it in such a way that you don't get any benfit from the dual cores. I was not trying to criticse it, just support the specs of the phone, as I do think it has great hardware
