For this comparison, I'll say Skyrim FW and U3 After 1 year.

Still kind of strange that you're only including the 360 version of Skyrim though. The PS3 and PC versions should also sell well.
I want to buy Skyrim, but personally I'd get it on the PC as I just built a nice PC earlier this year. My friend also wants to get Skyrim and he's getting the PC version as well. My other friend wants to get the Skyrim as well, but he's getting the PS3 version as he only has a PS3. In your comparison all of us are not included in those sales as we are not getting the 360 version of Skyrim.

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

uncharted 3 based on the enormous hype and uber ratings it gets.

Its metacritic is only a 9.4. Well 9.4 is amazing, but its not mindblowing like uncharted 2 was.

Uncharted 3 is the third uncharted in 4 years. Skyrim is the second elder scrolls in 5 years. Skyrim has a lot more hype. Just look at youtube views of skyrim videos compared to uncharted videos if you want to see the hype of the general gaming community. Skyrim has nearly twice the number of viewers of uncharted 3 and the game is coming out after uncharted.

I think skyrim should relatively easily have a higher metacritic IF it doesn't have the ridiculous amount of bugs most bethesda games have at launch, and if it doesn't have any glarring faults.

As for why I don't compare Skyrim on all platforms, its because uncharted 3 is suppose to have a chance. Anyone who thinks uncharted 3 has a chance to outsell skyrim on all platforms must have really high hopes for uncharted 3, considering oblivion without even the pc version outsold uncharted 2 by a good amount.

And to the person who said fantasy/rpg isn't a big genre, Warcraft wants to have a talk with you.

Uncharted 3 will sell more first week and lifetime. But if you include the PS3 and PC version and maybe a future Wii U version Skyrim will sell more overall. I think that Uncharted will sell easily over 5 million copies lifetime and Skyrim on the 360 will sell between 4-5 million copies.

Skyrim is tracking to crush uncharted so ..

Youtube isn't a very accurate representation of the general gaming community. It represents the more hardcore fans, hence the higher pre-orders seen in most RPGs, and rarely seen in a [fairly] casual game like Uncharted.

I also don't think time span will help Skyrims case much. In fact, I think the [relatively] short release schedual might actually help Uncharted, considering how gamers have proven to purchase new games in a series within a short time period. This is displayed by games like CoD, Fifa, Madden, Batman, etc which increase in sales with each iteration (Well, only once in Batman's case)... Conversely, you also have games that decrease with new iterations (Assassin's Creed, Killzone, Infamous, etc.). Ultimately, time-span isn't much of a deciding factor, and it'll espescially be hard to predict pre-release. The games' value, seen by consumers, will be mainly dependent upon the actual game, as opposed to the time length between the latest release.

With that said, I think Skyrim will have a bigger first week due to it's much bigger hardcore fanbase, but Uncharted will eventually sell more in the long term. UC3 should easily do 5mill with Skyrim likely barely scratching that boundary IMO. There is also the likely possibility of bundles in Uncharted's case.

No way that Skyrim will sell 5 million on just xbox360 after one year!!!

It'll sell over 5 million I think. I'll be surprised if Uncharted 3 hits 5 million in it's first year, but we'll see. It'll sell over a million in its first 2 weeks, but after that the numbers are going to drop.
