Forums - Sony Discussion - Where is the Ratched and Clank All 4 One Hype

Maybe they should have aimed hard for an August release ..

Around the Network

I think it should be fine selling 1m lifetime, there is a BF bundle that should help it get good numbers this holiday.

I was excited about the game before i played the demo or beta(whatever it was). Seeing them introduce a new concept to the franchise was interesting. But now that i have played it, it was okay but not great. The 4 player concept is a good one, but it makes R&C too different in many aspects from the previous installments for my taste. Imo, this would have been much more proper for a new IP ( maybe Overstrike will be like it)

I LOVE this game and am looking forward to it (more than B:AA).

What on earth is that?

Whoops - should have been B: AC (Batman Arkham City)

Game is coming out tomorrow and it seems to have absolutly no hype. Only a thread about the demo being free with some movie. Its not on the preorder chart and they didn't even mention it in games coming out next week. Did people forget it's coming out???

Well at least it seems I'll be able to get it in the bargain bins for very cheap these holidays. =( I didn't get to try the demo that came out. Can anyone tell me if it was good. I enjoyed the previous ratched and clanks, but idk if they took the series in a different direction considering this one focuses on multiplayer. One of the few quality ips on the hd consoles that doesn't seem to just be focusing on graphics whoring and it gets 0 attention. Sure they made it look overerly cute, at least in the trailers, but the game still looks like a ton of fun, and I can't wait to see how the experience is with move.

I LOVE this game and am looking forward to it (more than B:AA). I actually wanted to know the preorders but sadly no one else seemed interested in this game. Im actually looking forward to the new MP/coop features - i think it will add something to a series and formula that is getting pretty stale - visit new planets, defeat bad guys and upgrade weapons.  Particularly excited about the move controller - we really havent seen a game (other than sports/shooters) that utilise the move well so this should be really interesting.

Have to agree that marketing for this game has been awful - IG have done their part releasing avatars, themes and talking about the game but sony seem to have forgotten this game especially with UC3 and other big IPs coming out now. Perhaps the game formula needs revamping, or maybe they should give this game a rest for a few years (maybe until the ps4 comes around). Sly was never that popular a series but there seems to be quite a bit of hype over it after so many years since the last release. Maybe the same thing will work with R&C?

People are hyped for Sly because there hasnt been a new Sly game in years, but R&C is a different story, no matter how good a game series is and RnC is good people will get fatigued. PS2 had four games, PSP has 2 and there have already been 3 released on PS3 one coming 2morrow. thats ten games released in tow gens, that imho is way too much, idont think even Mario had that much released between two ghens, at least noi the main series.  I was looking forward to this myself the idea seemed interesting but with Batman goming out no way i am getting this anytime

Totally agree with you. Too many games too soon, compounded by the fact that setting the plot and minigames aside, the games are very similar - this probably contributed to the fatigue feeling. Its also why im excited over All 4 One. Its an experiment and one that may be substandard to previous R&C offerings (i personally feel they missed a trick by bypassing the Futures trilogy and dumbing it down somewhat - something that seems to be reflected in reviews/previews online) but its different and cool and i really want to try it out (didnt play the beta). I think the next R&C should be a ps4 launch title - people would buy this to finish off the trilogy, its very kid-friendly for moms and dads and a long wait will do it a heck of a lot of good.

My wife and I have just been playing this it is great so far. More fun then we have had with LBP2, DKCR and other 2D/3D platform games.
It looks gorgeous, runs flawlessly and the dry humor is still all there. Finally a great couch co-op game again. No more having to take turns :)

Ouch, Eurogamer just gave this a 5. They have never been impressed with ratchet and clank but this seems overly harsh.

I can agree with the points they bring up, yes it doesn't seem to be very good as a single player game. I would not recommend playing it for hours on end in single player. Confirming once more that playing single player in a game designed for multi player interaction doesn't work very well. L4D and the LBP campaign levels aren't much fun on your own either. But what can you do, adding multi player to an experience designed for single player doesn't work either, for example DKCR.

Anyway it is lots of fun in short bursts on the couch together.

It seems that it's getting rather poor reviews compared to the previous games..:/
