Switching between 50 and 60 Hz modes isn't quite the same, because the games themselves usually run 17.6 % slower in 50 Hz mode. Such a difference is easy to notice. |
Ah, OK, thanx for info.
Can you tell the difference? | |||
| Yes, clearly. | 233 | 59.29% | |

I can see a difference, but it's not much, it can be very beneficial for fast paced games.
There are a lot of 30fps games out there that are smooth as butter though. I can tell more of a difference between an inconsistent 25-30 fps and 30fps rather than 30fps and 60fps.
For example I can see more of a difference between Crysis 2 and Final Fantasy XIII's framerate rather than Final Fantasy XIII and Modern Warfare 2's framerate.

I'm sorry but I don't see any difference and people saying you notice it in racing games and shooters when looking in slow motion. imo if you play them in slow motion or whatever then you are doing it wrong. If you are moving them quickly then you don't really need to care if it's a blur or not as long as you know what's happening.
Yes clearly.

I don't know about anybody else but i can tell the difference easily from 30 fps to 60 fps
I can clearly tell when the framerate is at 30fps and I HATE it!

1. You ever played a game locked in 60fps (no fps below 60)??? 2. Games running at 60fps have drops do 50 or 40 fps in some time... that's make difference... but run at 60 fps locked (no drop) and you can see no difference between 30 and 60 locked. And in fact most of games running at 30fps drops to 20fps too... so the difference is even bigger than a 60fps droping to 40-50fps. 3. Now tell me who has a PC here do run a game with 60 fps locked (no drop) to make that kind of comparison |
1. Yes, tons.
2. If only devs made it like that... When they aim for 30, they also aim for better graphics and they often can't keep the framerate at 30 anyway. And either way, I've never found a short drop to 50 to be a problem, even 40 goes if it's not a sudden drop. Anyway, the difference between 30 and 60 is pretty clear. I thought it was obvious we're talking about locked framerates.
3. Let's just say that the difference between 60 (locked) and 43 (locked, of course) is pretty clear... Let alone the difference between 60 and 30. Yeah, I've some experience in that regard, even if my PC can't run the newest games at highest settings anymore.

Here's how you tell the difference between 30FPS&60FPS.
Uncharted 3 is going to run at 60FPS I believe at 1080p.
inFAMOUS(The first one)30FPS native 720p
Compare those two games to see the difference.
OR Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare its run at 60FPS at 1080p.
I can see the difference watching the videos, but I don't I notice it while playing, because my attention is on playing the game not trying to see if there are any tiny slowdowns :)
