Forums - Gaming - Has anyone else gotten the Mango update for WP7?

Have a Samsung Focus, due to my lack of patience I did the force update...

But it was worth it!! So much new stuff, was already smooth and fast yet it improved even more, built-in Facebook chat, I'm happy!

Just want more games/apps to flow in...

I'm glad Microsoft agrees with Apple that this sort of interaction is a part of the future. Now Microsoft just needs to execute on it!

They already have a very advance voice recognition built in to Mango. The stuff shown in the video is a few years away, but not out of reach.

I won't be using it very much though...lol. Basic commands sure, but I don't see myself having conversations with my phone as another person.

I know the voice recognition exists, it's the algorithm used for figuring out what you actually want that needs work.

I think it'll be quite useful for times when hands-off usage of your phone makes sense. Like when you're driving. But the video also demonstrated how much faster finding detailed information can be for the average user when you don't have to type in your search queries. If it gets advanced enough, it could easily sit up there with touch as a complete way of using your phone, and that's when it will get really exciting!

And: Kinect has no lag during the video ;)

mine still on old firmware.

offtopic : i really dislike when at the comments section of youtube videos say "The (phone's name) is MILES BETTER" and then just leave , i'd be interested to know why its better, dem trolls be trolling, or just plain dumb.

yep. Did the force and its a brilliant os.

What Microsoft has done is negate the need to clog up ur phone with several apps.
I don't need a Facebook app, because its intergrated into the phone and works better than any app for Facebook. I deleted shazzam because the os has this function built in but better and smoother.
Has anyone else also noticed that ur calender on the os is updated automatically with any event or occasskon from any of your friends on Facebook?

Also the voice recognition both for texting and Bing is awesome. And very responsive.

The metro user interface always had the potential to be the best. And now its shown why. Its so fast and so easy to do anything on the phone without needing apps it makes my wifes fiddly app filled android seem awkward and slow.

The only apps I have a need for is my wpcentral app, f1 app, premier league app and giant bomb. Oh also have amazon kindle and photo editor. Other than these news apps and photo apps, the os does everything smoother faster than any app out there for any os. ALL social networking stuff is seamlessly built into the os.

Very very impressive.

Loving the new xbl app. Nice new layout and much faster than before.

mango is great, and i believe its ready to take on the other mobile phones on equal standing, keep up the great work microsoft
