In Rainbird's defense, the X360 & PS3's library are almost 90% similar. So it's reasonable to suggest that features can be more important than a few exclusives.

There is nothing you can say in Rainbird's defense anymore. He has been outed as supporter of Joelcool7's ideas, so may god have mercy with him.

Yeah, Joel is a pretty smart guy. His posts are always insightful & reasonable.

I know this because his posts have good grammar and are neatly organized.

I think it's important to seperate the system itself from the games in this situation.

I mean, I have all three consoles (fat PS3, slim 360), and the 360 is far and away my favorite system. It just feels so incredibly well designed, everything comes together really well, and Microsoft are really putting their users first.

The PS3 feels so... dead, I guess you could say, in comparison. The XMB just doesn't give the same sense of comfort you get on the 360. Your friends are all just names on a list, and even though the PS3 does a lot of different things, it never really comes together into a cohesive whole.

The Wii is a mixed bag. I like how Miis are used (though the avatars of the 360 are more my kind of thing in some ways), but the system itself feels a bit like the PS3, in that it never comes alive as it ought to.

As far as games go, the PS3 has the edge, but I often find myself wishing I could have played a PS3 game on the 360. So in the end, I have to go with the 360.

Games = the reason you buy a system, therefore

System = games

Nothing else to it. Any other features are always, always, always, a bonus. I love the way my PSP Go handles my anime/music needs on the go, but I got it for the game first and foremost.

In 2007-9, that was not the case. At all.

The ball was firmly in the 360's court.

Well, I meant right now. The systems are virtually the same aside from features & the occasional good exclusive.

True, but Rainbird and I were talking 2007-9

True, but I quoted the post preceeding your mention of 2007-9

The PS3.
(I only have a PS3 and a 360.)

Reasons:

1) Free online. This is the most important reason for me.

2) Hardware reliability. The 360 failed on me so many times I stopped gaming on it unless its an exclusive. This is almost as important as free online.

3) HDD freedom. I have my own HDD put inside the PS3 which gave me a lot of HDD space compared to the 40 GB stock one. The 360 has 20 GB out of which I can use around 13 GB, not much when installing ME2 requires 12 GB. So only around 1 GB of space for everything.

4) The interface. I love XMB, and hate the 360's menus. I especially hate the kiddy avatars waving at me every time I turn on my 360. The XMB doesn't have any of that BS, and I can go straight to the point.

5) I can save music and images on my PS3. On my 360 I can't.

6) It seems MS doesn't care about anyone except halo fans and kinect fans anyway, so there's not much in terms of games for me on the 360. I like gears of war though. The only reason I haven't yet got it is because of online, I don't have gold.

There are some negatives to the PS3, but honestly they are miniscule compared to the stuff like free online, and reliability.

I remained loyal to Sony and got a PS3 (in Feb 2008) for FF, MGS and GT.

I got screwed with FF, not only because I could've played it on a cheaper console but because it wasn't that good.
I liked MGS4, but not nearly as much as the previous ones for some reason.
GT took ages (though I still loved the game).

So I was a bit disappointed with PS3 for about a year, but I just wasn't gonna buy another console because I was also not that interested in what the competition had to offer.

But now I'm really glad I got it because:

-Blu-ray is totally, absolutely awesome.

-PSN is great and free, more than I could have ever wished for.

-It turned out I loved many exclusives that I didn't even know about then (Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Yakuza...), while I'm not very interested in the competition's exclusives bar a few exceptions (3D Mario, Zelda, Alan Wake mainly).

-By far most of my friends have a PS3, both in Spain (PS land) and the UK (X360 sells more here, so I'm lucky).

Closer to 70% actually, next time do the math.

Judging by your commanding tone, I assume you have 'done the math' to reach your number, right?

360 because it has the best library, online and community, though I have a PS3 for exclusives. Wii is just terrible.

Ps3 definitely

-Free online, no one has ever charged for online before or since MS and frankly xbl doesn't really do much that psn can't and pc online does more so what exactly are you paying for?

-Games, the vast majority of the worthwhile ones on 360 seem to be multiplat and I don't particularly care about a resolution notch or prettier grass. Where ps3 has so many exclusives in so many genres I want.

-Reliability 360 isn't even close to, well it kinda is now but it took 5 years to get to that point so yeah...

-All the nickle and dimming MS does with the HDDs and other stuff.

-Rechargeable controllers, using standard batteries just seems outdated, I'd rather have a wired one frankly.

-Blu ray media and music options are a small plus.

Pretty much the only thing 360 has that I wish ps3 had was custom music available in all games, for ps3 only some can do it and it always seems to be the ones I don't even consider using because the in game music works better for the setting.

Yeah but it's just a rough number, since the number won't be the same for each console and I just used wiki which has games that have yet to come out and games that will never come out.
