Source would be fine if he kept his personal Nintendo bias away from his work. The numbers, as we all know are never based on final data and can be accurate or nowhere near...

The problem comes when he places anything Nintendo in a shining spotlight, and makes it look like the Nintendo product is shitting all over a competitors product.

I think he does a good job with the numbers, just the rest of it is generally Nintendo humping.

The America's preview get the numbers directly from ioi, while the JP preview gets them from stores, so no wonder he can't be all that accurate. His Gears numbers were probably based on some history/recent 360 sales data, and now that the 360 has less stock in Japan, he may have gotten stuff mixed up.

His comments might be a little too much, but he was still pointing out that Dark Souls did well against an established franchise.

And it is not only him that is getting old; remember the Tales second week? Everyone attacked him saying his numbers are bias, and surprise, he was right, and for unknown reasons the Japan Preview was barely mentioned that week, same COULD happen to Dark Souls.

no he didn't..it was seece (If I'm not mistaken) who changed it to that...and you are wrong many are pointing out his biase in both his numbers AND text. it's obvious..and hilarious. I for one don't find it aggrevating at all..it's just amusing :)

His numbers are estimates and can be all over the place, from 100% right to totally wrong, so he cannot be bias in that matter.

And about the text, he is bias, but that doesn't erase the fact he does the preview every week only to be surrounded by complains and hate comments.

You know if he stopped being biased in his articles the hate against him would go down massively. It's that simple.

Can we expect to see you defending Pachter the next time he makes a negative-Nintendo prediction? Can we?

as yo-john said, if he actually removes the bias...people will have little to nothing to complain or make fun of about. preview will be boring as hell tho for me personally. and when he shows such bias in his text, his numbers doesn't exactly seem like they are trustworthy as well, especially since his numbers for anything ninty are overstated most of the time. so yeah remove the bias and people won't complain about those numbers either.

I mean really..the guy is comparing demons souls to DQ to play down the sales! he does things like that all the time....i remember recently he mentioned some game called frogger or something as a major release yet not even mention Type-0! lol

But he did mention the great Dark Souls numbers before. And also, he did mention Type-0 this week I think, and has it ever occured you that he did not have any data of Type 0 at that point?

hmm i think you are fighting a losing battle here buddy.

about type-0..he constantly ignores it. the incident i mentioned was on titles that will sell well in coming months...it doesn't take a genius to figure out how Type-0 will be part of that....he didn't mention it as one of the bigger games for October either. I mean really?

and you are wrong. if what he does is funny, he will be made fun of. if people don't find it funny and just annoying, they will call him out on it. that's not bad at all. his obvious bias is so damn obvious, i used to get so annoyed with it..but then..it just became one big joke to me and hasn't stopped since. and keep in mind i HAVE given him credit in some weeks he have gotten data well..recently he had one preview which was very balanced and I gave him cred for that as well. but alas it lasted just one week.

i mean come on man..just take this week for example..if seece hadn't edited it out it read something like DS sold xxx which is comparable to DQ BUT the latter is just a collection or something...and the game may see a xillia like drop etc etc..i mean it seems it hurts him to give sony or ms credit or something. can't give a compliment without trying to downplay it. i mean ffs Xillia afaik had the highest selling FW in Tales history! who cares if it dropped to 20k a week after that. those are fantastic sales.

I agree with this. I personally think the preview is a nice feature if you take it for what it is (a prediction based on a very small sample) but I wish it would be more objectively written. There's no point whatsoever to let your personal preference affect your analysis as reality doesn't give a damn about what you like or dislike. I just can't understand what people think when they include their own bias in their predictions. Do you really believe it'll work? Do you seriously believe it will do anything but make you look stupid? Do you believe in unicorns? Fairies?

OT: I watched some youtube vids of that ecchi game for 3DS...Damn you Japan! I want that game too.
