Some guys here are comparing the story of Gears and Uncharted... but forget that Uncharted is more of how the story is told, that makes it special.

Gears 3 story is great... but as it is told and the poor dialogues just destroys a bit of fun and immersion.

There is at least three games coming out that i think looks better, plus several that are already out.

The video is absolutely AMAZING.

Best graphics on consoles so far.

Let it be released first. GOTY or not I want to play the game.

To me it just looks like Uncharted 2+1 which doesn't automatically make it Universal GOTY.

Clearly it's in with a shot. It's following on from a hugely successful title (critically) which won a ton of GOTY. The narrative and action seems even better than Uncharted 2 from what I've seen and based on the Beta the MP has taken a big boost from U2.

There will be a lot of competition of course, Gears 3 is very solid and has great MP plus the best SP for the franchise yet (although its SP while good for Gears is behind Uncharted never mind Uncharted 2 for narrative) and Skyrim and others all have great pedigrees as well.

But then I watched the vid. Now I'm going to say that my money is on U3 being game of the year - though not by a landslide.

Given Uncharted 2 won over 200 GOTY awards according to the trailer for the dual pack release and was universally praised I'm not seeing your point personally.  I agree it's not an automatic GOTY but on franchise performance it's clearly going to be a strong contender.
