Oh neither am I. I don't have a high opinion of SE. I haven't in a long time. VII and VIII weren't very good. IX was a step in the right direction. I liked X but I can see why others did not. X-2 was a joke. XII could have been great if SE stayed out of Matsuno's way. XIII was one of the worst JRPGs I've ever had the displeasure of playing and unfortunately....owning.

I actully agree with you on every level, except for FF7. but FF7 is pretty awful now, as in Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, Crisis Core and anything else they have linked to FF7 has just spoiled it.
i'm ready to wash my hands of Square Enix. they had their chance. in 10 years they've release 2 main FF games, neither have which have been exceptionally good. FF12 was good, but not the masterpiece it couldve been. and thats Square's fault. FF13, well you've said it. i think theres a few good moments in it, like Gran Pluse, but nothing that warrants 5 years of development. FF10, while i dont think its brilliant, i cant deny that a lot of people like it, so it is good on some levels. the combat was actully very well done at the time. but i dont need a rerelease of it to know that.
Square have had their chance this gen, and they've wasted it. Sakaguchi has just finished The Last Story and i think he'll be back with something else. Matsuno is now at Level 5 and far away from the hands of Sqaure's mediocracy. and i'm looking foward to seeing his announcement from them. Tales of Graces is coming next year, Ni No Kuni, etc. i dont think FF13-2 is going to perform well, and i hope it sends the message to Square, that the game is up!! they blew it! not to mention on the heels of FF14's failure, they've decided to make Dragon Quest 10 an MMO. so yeah, that could be DQ down the sh***r as well.
