the nintendo wii already sold 19 million consoles in 13 months, the gamecube did 5 years to achieve this amount... that's just unbelievable where will it end

Wii will pass Gamecube total sold in Februari. It has already passed Gamecube in Japan, Europe and Australia.

Gamecube did 12.7 mil in USA. I think Wii will pass that number in USA somewhere in Juli.

On a side note, Wii's almost at 20 million after one year now, whereas the DS is just over 60 million after 3 years. Hmm..

Congratulations to the Wii, soon to be the first Nintendo console to sell more than its predecessor.

When HD TVs will be present in at least 40% of its main markets' houses?  2011? 2012? By then Nintendo will be able to build a console more powerful than PS3 and earn on HW since the beginning even at $250 price.

Of course Nintendo could do like Sony with PS2 and PSOne and with PS3 and PS2, keep on selling Wii after Wii2 is released, as long as ther is request. Wii2 or whatever will be its name will enter the HD market with two great advatages over PS3 and XBox360: greatly reduced costs for the component necessary to make full use of HD and a back compatibility much easier to get, as Wii has a simple PPC CPU and a simple ATI GPU, so making much more powerful, but BC CPU eand GPU won't be too difficult... Next generation either MS and sony will have this advantage, but they didn't entering the costly HD arena, they tried to be ahead of the times, what they didn't suspect was that big N would have been still able to squeeze something very interesting out of old times.

When the Wii's sequal is released, having more power than the Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, the Playstation 3's sequal, and Xbox 360's sequal, may be more powerful than the Wii's sequal.
