Why do people excuse demon's souls cheap spots? 5-3 has a spot which is almost invisible where you fall down. There are such spots in 3-2 as well. The black phantom in swamp is probably undefeatable. I tried multiple times and even the wiki doesn't have proper info on him.

Dragons with ridiculous health and attack power meaning you have to use trial and error. In 1-2 you are bound to die at least once because of the dragon if you were to play offline on the first play through.

And the scraping spear used by black phantoms means that you have to grind even more.

I don't see how anyone can look at demon's souls and say its perfect in the way it manages its difficulty.

Tried luring him to dry land? He's not as tough if you're not bogged down. He's pretty impossible in the swamp.

The dragons are not much of a problem, either, since they both have specific and undiverting patterns. Though you will die a few times.

That's because you've been brainwashed by causal mainstream gaming in a COD faishon. It's not your fault though.

Yeah tried it but for some reason it didn't work. I think the dry land I lured him to, was small. And I ended up getting killed by him or the plague. Don't remember exactly. That whole level was fun except for that part. So I just ignored him. That's a plus of demon's souls, you weren't required to kill him.

Its still a bit restrictive though.

Resonance of Fate? Only if you're talking that secret carnival dungeon, whatever it was called (never finished it - I'd have to grind for hours, meh). Otherwise, it's pretty damn easy. Problems? Modify your guns to hell. More problems? Hollow Point/Metal/incendiary rounds. More? AP rounds, charge to infinity, cross your fingers for full scratch damage (which frequently occurs - and even if it doesn't AP rounds do a huge number on the enemy anyway - a viable tactic since AP rounds are so damn cheap, literally and figuratively). Outside of that dungeon, RoF is easy as pie thanks to exactly how much damage you can inflict and how much you can negate with various items, often killing most of the enemies in one single turn. I don't see how you didn't have trouble with FF IV if you had some with RoF.

Demon's souls - you have no one but yourself to blame, sorry :P You just seem like the crossroads of shitty circuimstances.

edit: Not to mention - a death in RoF is nothing to be afraid of. A little fee of a few rubies, and you're back in the fight.

I did complete RoF at 100%. So I went to that dungeon indeed. And completed it. That was hard. Not impossible but hard. Again, I don't remember what was difficult in FF IV. In any FF game to be honest.

Regading my shitty situation in DS.. oh well. I am a minority but I know they happened to some other people. That is part of the game. Bad luck and you are screwed. I could still manage to end that gameplay and move forward after killing stockpile Thomas. Fortunately it happened when I was wearing most of my good stuff. And the next gameplus he gave me back everything. Still, DS can be pretty dangerous. On purpose.

I wonder if Dark Souls will have a pause button....

No, there still isn't one.

I have to say I think they are absolutely retarded dicks for not putting a pause button in TBH.

That is the thing I hate most about these games because I have to pause games quite often to do other things or because i'm interrupted.

To be fair, I don't really see how Demon's/Dark Souls could incorporate a pause feature, given the unique nature of their online play. The only time it could work is if you play disconected from the server.

Really? How does their online thing work (I've never really figured it out)

As you play through the game, every so often you can see the ghosts of other players as they are also playing their own games. Scattered throughout the game are bloodstains. If you touch one of these, you get to see the final moments of the player as he gets killed by an enemy. This feature can be a bit amusing. I remember when I first spotted the red eyed knight in 1-1. The entire area was filled with at 6-10 different bloodstains. Curious, I began touching them one by one to see exactly what happened. I was completely engrossed in watching all these brutal deaths at the hand of the knight, when I heard a scraping sound. I swiveled around, only to find the same knight that just killed all those people charging at me. I barely managed to avoid the first thrust of his spear before running as fast as I could in the other direction--with him chasing me all the while. After he broke off pursuit, I calmed down and decided to prepare a little more before trying to fight him... he still killed me the first time I did end up fight him

Players can also leave messages for one another, informing them of where valuable items may be hidden, traps may be placed, or especially difficult enemies me be lying in wait--one of those could have helped me against the knight, though I suppose all those bloodstains were warning enough.

The main parts of the game that will be affected by pausing will be: summoning other players into your own game/being summoned into another player's game, Invading another player's game/ being invaded, or any form of PVP.

Since all these features are part of single player on the server, conflict with even one of them means the pause feature can't work online. I suspect the game designers were also trying to keep the tension up by not allowing the player to truly feel safe anywhere outside the nexus.

Wow that is epic! I thought they didn't let you pause just to be a bunch of a-holes but it appears they have a legitimate reason.

What they should do though is increase the number of checkpoints (bonfires) in dark souls so you never have to spend more than 10-15 minutes between them.

You have checkpoints of a sort in DeS. As you move further into the stages you (permanently) unlock shortcuts. It doesn't really take you that long from dying until getting back where you were.

To be honest

ELDER SCROLLS 5 SKYRIM

I have absolutely  no  room for Demon Souls right now. And   know for a FACT its not that hard. I know 3 who have put 60 + hours in and they didnt find it THAT hard. Also they said the game was good but no Oblivion.

So I will play next year sometime.

Much better games  coming to 360 in the near future. Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim will hold my RPG crown.

Always walk with your shield up, and upon meeting the enemy, backroll just in case ;)

Constantly keeping distance also helps... sometimes.

Take everything slow. If you nail down enemy patterns, you nail down the game.

I consider this kind of comments much more arrogant! :p

It isn't that easy, not when one just starts the game. Even with the shield up there are good chances of falling in a ambush and die. What distance do you keep when those b@stards come out from nowhere? Then if they hit the shield the stamina has gone in a couple of shots. Sure now I can easily beat 1.1 but I spent hundreds of hours replaying the game for the platinum.

That's you. I didn't find it hard and people saying that OMG IT IZ EPITOMZ OF HARDZ is something I find really annoying. It's logical, and it's challenging. You're hit in the shield? Back away. You're being swung at? Move away. There is no real assault from nowhere in the game, aside from those damn Latria Wardens.

Myself? I cleared 1-1 at my second try. Mainly because on the first one, I veered the wrong way and fought the red eye knight instead of the blue. Being a lowly level 1 soldier, he blitzed me.

Lol for like the first 10 hrs of the game i didnt use a shield or armor (chose barbarian witch he didnt come with anything but a mace) cause i just assumed that blocking with a shield only reduced a small percentage of the damage, so i thought "F it may as well just dodge the attacks".. so i did, and i didnt use armor because when you have heavy armor on your roll goes super slow... So i just ran around butt nekid with a 2h. I also killed the very first boss (that your ment to die on) its super easy cause if you have no armor on you can easily out maneuver him

So the first time you tried the game you managed to kill the very first boss (Vanguard or whatever its name) at the beginning? Good for you.
