Well, the Playstation 3 did go back down to 19.7%, but that may have been from the Wii, and not the Xbox 360. Yeah, I am very surprised how the Xbox 360 managed to slow down quite a bit, even with the many, good games, currently on the system.

2 year targetting the hardcore crowd only is simply too much ...
And since they will continue this year, sales will not change dramatically
Time to Work !
Some simple stuff:
a) marketshare could only be counted sensibly the second PS3s and Wii's started selling (in terms fo the comparision being discussed here which is between these consoles) - so for a second MS had 100% which quickly started to be eroded with each PS3 and Wii sold. As 360 was in market for a year first it had to lose marketshare initially and will continue to do so
b) A final level has not been reached yet but the way the maths works unless MS sold massive amounts more than PS3 and Wii globally (which now seems a remote possibility at best) then it can only slowly lose share. PS3 is however only slowly growing its share. It's the Wii that's driving the most change - with a residual but lessening effect of the 360 starting with 100%
As for 2008 - I think it's gonna end up with fractured market as follows:
1) Casual gamer - Wii everywhere
2) 360 leading for hardcore gamers in US
3) PS3 leading for hardcore gamers outside US
Developers better work out how to make titles work globally or start focusing certain titles on certain markets.
Yes .. they will continue to loose from their share ... how much ... well only time will tell ...
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
Obviously, if Ps3 and X360 sells the same amount, the X360 will lose market share, since the 360 had more from the beginning

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS
Well, 360 gained a little bit back from PS3.
Wii: 44
360: 36.3
PS3: 19.7
So Wii took .1% back and 360 took .3%

I think you're referring to adjustments to the figures on the site rather than something that happened in real life.
The numbers on the site are changed in line with updated data to numbers go up/down a bit around each release of new sales figures for a bit.
I guess my 50% marketshare prediction for Wii by end of August doesn't seem so crazy anymore....
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
finally...someone who agrees with me.....xbox360 is losing market, and will be defeated by ps3 in ending 2008 - early 2009.....
wii will be the winner......

The 360 started with 100% market share. I'm not surprised it's gone down!
What matters is changes in the market share of monthly sales.
