Ahhhhhh Finished the campaign.

Best game this year so far. Thoroughly enjoyed it. And has been the perfect end to the Gears trilogy.
The visuals are phenomenal and the gameplay brilliant. Love the story and the Shocks involved.

If your a shooter fan you cannot get better than Gears 3. Its the reason this generation is so good.

Thanks Epic for such a labour of love. It is so evident how much time andd love has gone into this game. From the standout Polished presentation to the perfectly paced campaign.

Truly the best game since Reach.

Well done.

Gears 3 released in Japan yesterday and I went to buy a copy. I was a bit surprised that the store I went to had no more copies of the LE nor the Epic edition. They only had 1 regular copy left as well and a few of the consoles. This is probably the biggest store in my city for games. Anyway, I ended buying the console bundle, yay! I haven't set it up yet though as I just the game on my Reach 360, heh. Anyway, got through the first act and it's pretty good so far. Also tried a little bit of deathmatch (to make sure I got my free golden weapons!) and I'm liking it so far. Will have to play more later tonight.

I was really let down by the beginning of Gears of War 2 but by the time the tutorial was over, I was in love. Same thing applies to Gears of War 3. I was a bit let down by the first stage. It was to chaotic and random. I just finished level 1-6 and I'm falling in love, again. It's the personal moments that win me over.

I was really blown away by the water effect, too. Streams of water beading up on the character's skin--awesome. Figure I'd stop for the night, right there. I gotta make the game last. I'd give it an 8/10 so far but I know it's going to get better....right?

Act 3 is unbelievable. seriously Act 3 is made by GOD himself. The game is pure brilliance.

^^^Selnor has got me super hyped!

Somebody should make a spoiler thread so that guys who've beaten the game can discuss the story. Not yet, though. I'd be too tempted to read something!

Anybody see Hot Tub Time Machine? There was a guy in the present with one arm. When the main characters go back in time, that guy has two arms and he keeps getting into situations where his arm almost gets cut off. Every time it happened, I thought "This is it! This is where that arm comes off!"

I've just scratched the Gears 3 surface but I get that same feeling. It's pretty cool.

Selnor is right - Acts 1 & 2 are good, acts 3 - 5 are pretty freaking amazing.

I just finished the campaign and Wow. It's freaking awesome and a really good ending. I agree the game gets better and better each chapter. I was a little underwhelmed by the first chapter, but it picks up fast by the second and there on out it's amazing. I can't wait to play the campaign again with 4 friends on Insane.

Horde Mode 2.0 is a freaking blast to play. I only got to level 17 with some random people. looking forward to playing this with some friends and going to wave 50. BTW the Boss waves are insane.

Beast mode is great. I only unlocked to about the third stage of locust so I didn't get to try them all out. Definitely a change of pace from everything else. It pretty disappointing there is only 12 waves and only takes about 12-17 minutes to finish.

The multiplayer is so polished and well balance. There is nothing bad I can say about it at this time. No lag or gliches I've spotted so far and it runs like a dream on dedicated serves. I'm going to be addicted for months.

Pros: Awesome story, Horde 2.0 is so much fun, Beast Mode, multiplayer is very polished, tightest gameplay and controls yet for a Gears game, amazing graphic.

cons: Beast mode should been longer, paying real money for weapon skins is lame.

Final Score: 9.5

I haven't played much of the campaign yet, how long did it take you guys to finish?

I've been playing the hell out of the MP, almost had a *11* man clutch in old town but time ran out! lol, the newbies forgot to guard the boomshot so I kept getting the ammo over and over taking out a 2-3 at a time.

I really wish this game had replay/theater so I could have shared it.

Honestly loving the MP because It's lag free and somehow more balanced then Gears 2 was. It's still Gears of Shotgun though most of the time.

It's just that simple.

Last night on Conan, our favorite ginger showed off the more sensitive side to Gears of War 3. According to the late night host on TBS, critics have been chatting about how the latest installment to the series is more emotional and may turn off hardcore gamers. Well, Conan decided to show just how genteel the game has become, and you can watch for yourself below. Apparently, Dom gets a bit upset when he finds out about R.E.M. retiring from the scene.
