I left for a little while since I was dissatisfied but I won't get into all of that.

The reasons that I come back is that I really like a lot of the members and the alternatives to this site are much, much worse.

Because there are still some interesting discussions here. Most other forums I use aren't nearly as interesting as this one.

I approve of this answer. +1

I originally came to the site for the chartz and the good writers. The forum was interesting and I liked the intelligent conversations which occurred. I also liked how on the forum people weren't as spiteful and bigoted as on other forums. As a Nintendo fan I wasn't going to get flamed out of town, as a Microsoft fan I wasn't going to get flamed out of town. I could also discuss most of my opinions on Sony maturely without being flamed out of town.

Today, the news articles blow. Many of the writers actually hastily attack users in threads and posts acting immaturely and unprofessionally. The users I once I was able to discuss subject maturely with (Sapphi_Snake, Rath) while I do still talk to them a bit are being replaced by anti-religious and prejudice jerk offs. Now of course myself and Sapphi and Rath have been in heated debates, however we never attacked each other directly. We respected each others opinions and usually (90% of the time) responded maturely.

So why am I still here, well despite the fact that the off topic board and some of the writing staff are extremely UN-proffesional and prejudice. There are still other good users like Galaki, Dr.Grass, Viper1 and so fourth. Not to mention while two of the writers here have proven to be extremely unprofessional and biased Smeags remains my favorite staff member, proving that most of the staff at VGChartz don't act this way.

Also the charts, VGChartz is still the best source for video games sales information. The news articles might blow but their is no other site online where a gamer can follow global sales up to the week. NPD isn't that informative anymore and publishers rarely mention sales figures outside of investor meetings.

So that coupled with the fact that I can still talk about games without the fanboys flaming me off the site and a good staff member or two. Plus a few good users. I am still here!

Its seems that you don't because there was not many options to pick anything that was because we like the site. Force of habit is saying we just come here because , not because we enjoy it. Its the only forum we have ever been to makes seem like we dont know the other options out there. I like a few of the regulars...is that the only reason because you like a few regulars! The one that actually is broad I think is the numbers option because that is the biggerst thing we have. Then there is I dont know, and not for much longer! and other or see results.
How about because we just enjoy the site as a whole? Badges, points, rewards, threads, members, database, The numbers, etc.
Could go on IGN, but I want to see the numbers and we get most of the reviews here anyways, and you can get critic reviews on the game pages. Gamefaqs, moby games, etc are all pain in the*** to deal with when it comes to doing much of anything.Neogaf......oh baby jesus! Didn't like the format of the rest of them. Boxoffice mojo not worth it, Ropeofsilicone lets anyone post, imdb.com too annoying to go through. I could name sites all day, but it all comes down to a lot of people enjoy the site. One week I see people complaining there are too many off topic threads, the next there are no movie threads, or too much bible end of world threads, on and on and on. The grass is always greener on the other side. Just wait for someone to do a vgchart members prediction league thread on who will leave but come back with in a few months when they find out the grass was not greener thread".

Did that answer the question for myself at least?

Yea like everything I do, I have an idea that sounds good in my head, put it off for a long time and then half ass it when I go to actually execute the idea at 1 in the morning as I am going to bed and have a mind block as I am filling out the poll...

But as a proper excuse for the crappy poll I will just argue that it was only meant for people who aren't happy with the current state of the forum and are thinking of leaving the site. Yea that would kinda explian the crappy poll options, I am glad I just thought of that, that is now the reason. You people that actually legit like the forum aren't welcom here and should LEAVE! Muhahaha I have gone mad with power!

So you have gone mad with power? :P

I am not sure WHAT power but I am sure I have gone mad with it whatever it is

I have been watching that. It is getting close isn't it! Will be very exciting to see what happens over the next year, and whether those new consoles actually get the green light. The only thing now is whether PS3 has enough time? Eventually the new 720 and PS4 will come out, and of course the Wii U. Is the PS3s lead big enough each month to make this happen? Also my last question would be what is going to happen this holiday season with sales? 360 could be really huge in America and maybe even Europe, will that be enough to offset japan sales?

aha im glad im not the only one, just being honest, thats why i keep coming back checking weekley sales, also I do like to find out how some games get on in their opening week

ohhh and the trophy league

There are a lot of things that keep me coming to the site. Many times I just go through the threads and read what certain users are saying in each post. Yep, I'm a post reading guru.

A lot of it is the information I can obtain here. It gives me a sense of where the market is. I also sometimes wonder what a certain game has sold lifetime and will look it up. Its great for comparing.

I also enjoy most of the users here and how they are from around the globe. Its nice to hear different points of view.

Lastly I think this site seems more of a close knit site between users. For whatever reason it just seems more personable here than many other sites that are filled with trolls and flame baiters.
