The 3D is a major reason why i play the 3DS!! It's like looking through a window into another world. When the kiddies pickup on that shit it will be a huge selling point.

I actually believe that there will be a different version of the 3DS in the near future.  I just think it's going to add features instead of taking features away.  Nintendo goes both ways, though (removes GBA port from DS, adds camera and browser, etc.) throughout history.  But who knows.  Every few years, somebody at Nintendo goes loopy.  They made the Gamecube powerful but made it look like a little girl's lunchbox.  They made the Snes powerful but gave it a processor slower than my pocket calculator.  They made the N64 perfect but stuck with expensive cartridges.  And don't get me started on the Wii!

They usually tend to do pretty well with their portables, though.  We'll see.


Yup agreee again. Nintendo would probably do this if they ever take out the 3D they would add stuff to fill the gap. But what can they add?

Relax everyone.....its all gonna be ok. The end of the world is not going to happen. Nintendo will be fine. The 3DS will be fine.

But surely at this point it would be a worse decision to get rid of the feature. Yes, at this point there probably is no turning back without axing the whole thing altogether. Kinda like Blu-ray on the PS3. It was supposed to be a major selling point, but it turned out that consumers didn't care enough for it which caused big problems.

Yeah, they were kind of forcing it onto the consumer instead of providing what the consumer wanted. At least Nintendo doesn't have the price point problem anymore, which was (still is probably) Sony's main misstep.

And there is word that Sony is considering releasing the PS3 with DVDs instead of BluRay. 

Just like with the PS3, the talk about 3DS without 3D comes about because systems sales weren't hot.  But now, with the price drop, they have picked up.  So to discuss no 3D for the 3DS (PEOPLE SEE THE NAME), is arguably too late to the game.
