Forums - Nintendo - What type of pokemon trainer are you?

I'm fucking neurotic about how I train pokemon. I always have 6 of them and I keep them at even levels. I order them by least amount of XP needed for a rank up and put the pokemon closest to leveling up first in my lineup. Then when they level up they move to the back.

There's just no way in hell I could have like a level 50, a level 30, a level 40...etc. I would much rather have six Level 40's.

I'm the same way. First thing i do when i get a new Pokemon is to bring it up at least into the ballpark of what i have (and my ballpark is usually within 3 levels or so), and after that try to keep everyone perfectly synchronized, although i don't allow my OCD in that regard to overcome common sense (e.g. if it's time to level for the Electric Gym, i'll get my ground type, and only my ground type, up as high as it needs to be to clean out the gym, then bring everyone else up to match afterwards)

Yeah agreed with that part! That's key or else you're screwed.

Not bad for FIVE Badges when Audino training...

I beat the game(Soul Silver) with a mixture of different types. But after i beat it, i established steel and ghost type team.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

I choose the water starter every time - even if it's another save file of the same game. I just can't break the tradition :(

I'm still in the beginning of the game, but i find myself intrigued to the dragon type pokemon..other than that i always use a fire starter untill i chose oshawott this time around!

Currently playing through HG with some really cool first gen pokemon. Things like Pinser, Victreebell, Lapras and Scyther.

I always plan my team ahead of time, and start building it with my first poke.  After they are EV trained, I try and keep them all the same level.  With pokemon White, I had never created a doubles team before, so I made a Trick Room Doubles Team to shake it up a bit.

I used to play competitively and I found that defensive stall teams worked the best. I used to roll with Hippowdon and Tyranitar to start up a Sandstorm then use Zapdos and Vaporeon to Toxic stall or Paralyze stall my opponent. Then I used a Choice Scarfed Flygon to finish off the scraps. :P It was a pretty good team I'll say...

I always pick water pokemon, I don't know why, they are always the cooler ones.

I also like to use dragons and legendaries, they are pretty epic Pokemon.

Mix-up between Water, Ground and Grass.
