I'm hoping for a 10-15% drop for today...that would show signs of legs etc.

Either way nothing can stop this from becoming the biggest end of trilogy grosser ever.

Not adjusted of course, Return OF Jedi completely owns that spot with its mind boggling $744 Million adjusted.

But non-adjusted is a big feat in itself & it's a record TDKR will hold for a long long long time, possibly till Avengers 3.

Edit: till avatar 3 lol

More close to 25% off today for TDKR.

I want to change the 2nd weekend gross for the movie to less than $70 m

Yeah ,at this point , I hardly see it doing even close to $70M.

It can't do below $70 Million

don't buy the doomed talk

Last weekend was deflated remember.

Todays drop was a bit harsher than expected, but I put that to discount tuesdays making Tuesdays drop less than expected...so it evens out in the end.

Think we'll get a $79 Million 2nd weekend.

Below the 70 million mark is possible if the TV ads don't return on Friday and the media keeps constantly talking about the shooting in colarado. I did predict a 215 million opening weekend however the shootings took a big toll on the saturday and sunday collections and around 10% of the Friday collections as well. However if it doesn't do better than the Dark Knight in its second weekend then there is no way Dark Knight Rises can cross the 500 million mark domestically all thanks to one idiot!

I've heard people saying TV ads are back on most networks.

It will have to cross $500 Million somehow, only then will TDKR have my permission to die!

If you could provide me with a link confirming that Dark Knight Rises has TV adverts now would be great cause I can't find one :(

Dark Knight Rises is performing much better than The Dark Knight Overseas and should possibly tie or pass the Avengers overseas from the data we've just recieved. So the worldwide breakdown will probably like this..

NA: $467 million (if it does less than 70-79 million during the weekend)

Overseas: $890 million (some of the markets its about to release in will be huge give the Dark Knight Rises around an additonal $150-200 million during the weekend and it should have great legs similar to the Dark Knight)

Total: $1.357 Billion

However...

Breaking the Avengers 104 million record will be incredibly hard as movies in July don't grow more than 50% generally from Thursday to Friday however if The Dark Knight Rises does turn out to be a weekend movie as people on this thread are saying than..

NA: $587 million (it needs to get at least 90-95 million in its second weekend and have legs similar to the Dark Knight and keep outdoing it during the weekends)

Overseas: $890-$900 million (the overseas market won't change)

Total: $1.477 Billion - $14.87 Billion (Tieing the Avengers or beating it becoming the biggest film of the year...until the Hobbit comes)

However this is an unlikely scenario and most probably won't happen...however when it comes to DVD and Blu Ray sales...This film will smash records earning much more than its theatre run similar to the Dark Knight

I believe that anyone that had the intention to see this movie will eventually go see it. If it still falls short of TDK then I can't say it was all because of the shootings. As great as the movie is plenty of people are dissapointed that their favourite Superhero only comes out for about 15min tops (in a 2hr 45min flick). If that sentiment keeps spreading I don't see this movie cracking the $500mil mark imo.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345836/  I don't think too many people are upset about the film...and Batman is their for much more than 15 min

I can't believe there are so many people who think this film would break Avenger's second week record...70-90 million looks more realistic
