Avengers 2 got adjusted up by $3.6 million on its opening weekend. I'm thinking its final world wide total will be slightly more then $1.6 billion.

I am so happy for this too.  It's not necessarily about the quality of the movie itself (which I still think was amazing in plot, character, and visuals), but more about what this cinematic universe represents, and that is the future of cinema.  

I see people going on about how terrible the world of cinema is now, all these reboots and adaptations and sequels and remakes and reimaginings, and how creativity is gone...But I see this world is a great one!  Ever since about 2000 when X-Men came out, then Lord of the rings/HArry potter in 2001, and spiderman in 2002, the cinematic world has shifted.  Nerd stuff reigns supreme, and the Avengers is at the very top of the pyramid, showing that a movie can not only be successful, but also fun, even when it's a nerd thing.  

I love this world we've helped build.  I love the cinematic universe, and I love that, by the looks of it, Avengers will hold onto ranks 3 and 5 on the all time chart by month's end.  (Though I wouldn't be surprised to see Star Wars match it worldwide). 

How crazy are epxectations for a film when I read it makes 190 million domestically in three days and people feel disappointed?

How long until it breaks billion barrier world wide? 7 days? 14 days?

Technically it's already been out for 10 days worldwide.  Released LAST friday in international markets. 

I meant "from now" as in 7 days from today or 14 days from today.

I'm thinking it should do it by 7 days from today.  Also it will get another huge boost seven days from now when it opens in China on the 12th.

A truly unexpectedly low Monday gross for Avengers. Lower than F7's first Monday. Who would've guessed 3 years ago..

Hoping that Mad Max overperforms so my grief regarding the Avengers situation can be sweetened.

What "Avengers situation"?  IT's still gonna end up around 500 million domestically with another billion or more in international grosses.  Trust me, there's no Avengers situation. 

People put insane expectations on Avengers 2. It is sort of like an Apple or Microsoft reporting massive revenues and profits and people are disappointed because they expected even more.

I think Avengers 2 will end up around 1.6 billion gross world wide.
