Seems like either GOG or Mockingjay will win the BO this year.
Is it too early to talk about 2015? Avengers vs. Star Wars?

Mockingjay > AS > GotG

Also, no chance a Star Wars beats The Avengers.

I don't know American Sniper might just have a chance to be the highest grossing domestic movie of 2014 it all depents on how much it can make the next couple of weeks and weekends.  Its only been in wide release for 32 days and compared to how much Mockinjay made in its first 32 days its actually ahead by over ten million.  That being said its still going to take a while before it will become the highest grossing war movie of all time its still almost $100 million behind Saving Private Ryan's world wide total.

American Sniper is now bound to surpass Mockinjay to become the #1 movie released in 2014. Nobody has even come close to predict this. Incredible.

Yeah that movie pretty much came out of nowhere its also Clint Eastwood's highest grossing movie will probably make more then twice as much as Million Dollar Baby by the time its done.

This year will break the previous record box office year I'm pretty sure (not accounting for inflation of course).

I think that Will Smith movie that's coming out in a few weeks will be a hit too unless the reviews are really terrible. Chappie could do well too.

There's a lot to carry this year that's already had an explosive start towards May when the big guns start coming out.

People are voting Age of Ultron even though I did mention in the pool that it making around as much as the first wouldn't make it that impressive since it was very well received and Captain America 2 added even more value to the Marvel Universe and the Avengers team as a whole. Do you think it will hit $2billion? Will it make close to what Avatar did domestically ($760M) ? Because only those scenarios would make it impressive. Please comment.

Only way I can see Focus making a lot of money if it gets very good reviews.  But you never know Will Smith last movie with Warner Brothers I Am Legend got only decent reviews and still made a lot of money.  One thing that might hold Focus back to make a lot of money is its R rating.

Glad that 50 Shades has weak legs it already made more then it deserved. I'm thinking that Cinderella will do pretty good might do better then Maleficent did. Not that really has to since it doubt its budget was quiet as high as Maleficent's which was $180 million dollars.

Focus actually did pretty good considering it only had a budget slightly bigger then $50 million dollars.

The Box Office should start showing some seriously big grosses starting with Cinderella next week.

Can Buena Vista make over $2.4b this year in NA?
I think it's possible.
$117m so far this year.
$150m for Cinderella
$20m for Monkey kingdom
$750m for Avengers.
$200m for tomorrowland
$230m for Inside Out
$200m for Antman
$120m for The Finest Hour
$150m for Cold War Spy Thriller starring Tom Hanks, directed by Steven spielberg
$250m for Good Dinosaur
$300m for Star Wars by 12/31

American Sniper is now the highest grossing domestic movie of 2014 it also now passed Saving Private Ryan as the highest grossing war movie of all time. Overall it was a pretty weak domestic box office weekend. Things should pick up a lot next weekend since I already said earlier that Cinderella should do very good. I also think that Run All Night could do pretty good I'm thinking it will do better then Focus.
