Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

HTTYD2 will have better legs than 22 jump street and will surely surpass it's predecessor both domestically and internationally and with no other animation release, it'll only gain more in the box office. Everyone is loving it, literally everyone so word of mouth will be crazy good for this one.

Godzilla, while slowing down domestically manages to reach 400 million worldwide excluding it's massive debut in China!(current estimate as of today is 426 million including 25 million from China)

Totally agree most people that saw HTTYD2 loved it its still has a very high rating of 8.8/10 on imdb doesn't look like it will get a major drop in the ratings anytime soon.  The critics also slightly liked it better then the first film 77 versus a 74 on metascore.  Should also be the front runner for the best animated feature at the academy awards next year don't think that Disney's Big Hero 6 will score higher.

Great for 22 Jump Street, much less so for Dragon 2, at least in NA.

Probably the most shocking thing to happen was the end of the first Dragon movie. Add a great story, killer animation, etc and that movie will be a classic for years to come. I have high hopes for the second one.

Only seen the first one once but really liked it also.  Hope that not everyone is overrating it.  It almost didn't drop in the user ratings at imdb so far its still very high at a 8.7/10.  KInda was hoping it would do more then what it did at its opening weekend domestically still did slightly better then the first one and it should have very good legs.  The next PG rated family movie doesn't come out until the 12th of Septemper when Dolphin Tale 2 gets released.

Even Dolphin Tale 2 would not bother it^

Yeah by that time it will made most of its money domestically good thing it came out this summer it would have had a lot more competiton next year and I'm sure the 3 film will have more competiton also when it comes out in two years.

Actually there is Planes 2 on July 18.

Guess I overlooked that one still pretty slim pickings when it comes to PG movies that everyone can enjoy this summer there will be a lot more next year.

Planes 2 shouldn't pose much of a threat to Dragon 2. It's not that famous nor known. Reception from the first film wasn't so good either.

Its still did pretty good at the box office.  And since it originally was planned as a straight to video movie its budget wasn't that big either it made $219 million on a $50 million production buget which is pretty good especially since the movie overall was pretty sub par 39/100 critic metascore, 5.7/10 imdb user rating and only 26% on the tomato meter.
