Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

Looking at the first and second Captain America films the big difference is overseas boom which I did not expect. I guess Avengers did a lot to make people outside the U.S. accept him.

The First Avenger (Totals)
Domestic: $176,654,505 47.7%
+ Foreign: $193,915,269 52.3%
= Worldwide: $370,569,774

The Winter Solider (Thus Far)
Domestic: $162,345,947 33.8%
+ Foreign: $317,700,000 66.2%
= Worldwide: $480,045,947

Going from 52% to 66% is a massive swing to me.

It made 20M more overseas than NA. If it makes  80M more in NA (reasonable, but probably a little less), than 100+ more from the overseas markets it has opened in + a little from Japan would make it 120M from overseas, so 200M more overall. I don't know where you are getting another 100M from.

What do you mean 20m more overseas? It's already at over 300m overseas, or twice the NA number.

I meant 20M more this weekend.

Yeah but it should have way longer legs overseas than in America, I think. And 20m more in a single weekend doesn't mean it will only get 20m more than NA from here on out. Let's say it's 30m for this whole current week, then 30m again next week. That's already 60m more than NA in 2 weeks

I don't know why it would have better legs overseas, especially since a big chunk of that gross is in China where films tend to have pretty big drops from this point. but I did give it 40M more overseas, not 20M.

It just seems like most movies have bigger legs there, since the release is usually a bit staggered. Still, even if it didn't have better legs, we'd see over 720m WW

It has already opened everywhere except Japan. And I expect it to have slightly worse legs overseas with China and with Spider-man already opening this weekend in a bunch of markets.

Not impressive for a Spiderman film so far.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is doing pretty good overseas despite only being a mediocre movie.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 did pretty good but it probably should have crossed the $100 million mark on its opening weekend it definitely was playing in more then enough theaters to do so.  Overal it will probably not make as much money as the first movie just like the second movie in the first Spiderman trilogy.

It's a Superhero movie, what do you expect? Action itself is mostly enough for a good amount of people. (Sadly)

I went to watch spiderman 2 last week.

It was just cause i felt like watching something. The matter of the fact is that i hate this version of Spiderman.
The movies should be called "ultimate spider-man" cause thats what they are. There is no Amazing spider-man there. Completely different Peter Parker.
