Keep in Mind that this Friday was black Friday, so it will be down a little for Saturday and should finish a bit above The Dark Knight and Avatar for biggest second weekend, and about 420M-430M in total.

Although it's a great 2nd weekend,we shouldn't get our hopes too high by already talking ~500M figures. It's going to drop like a rock next weekend.

Well, considering it'll be coming off a ~100 million dollar weekend with over 300 total...I wouldn't count it out. Right now I'm imagining 450-475 as a good bearing, since much of its audience will go away come the 13th when The Hobbit comes around.

Pretty good second weekend for Catching Fire and the remake of Oldboy bombed both critically and at the box office.
Great numbers for Frozen.
some are saying the movie is the best from Disney since 'Lion King'.
might have to check it out.
| spurgeonryan said: Frozen actually looks really good. Will still try to force my kids to wait until it hits the dollar show, but you know how they are... I am sure it will shoot well past 100 million domestically. Maybe even 200 million. |
Actually it looks like it is headed to around 250 million. Tangled did 200 million and this is doing better so far.

That was never going to happen.

@Tower You still think Frozen is going to push well past 200 million? Homefront...yet another Statham movie that does below 20 million. How is he still in biggish movies? |
Certainly, Frozen made more than Tangled on the comparable Friday, and Tangled made another 120M after this day. Keep in mind that Christmas/new year are coming up and there are no animated films being released for the rest of the year.
As for Statham, his films have been making similar numbers for awhile and they keep getting made, so I assume that they make their money elsewhere. They must be quite popular on home video.
Yeah Hobbit 2 is definitely not going to make as much money as the first one its already $6 million behind the first ones one day total. Plus it will have much more competition from other good movies in the next couple of weeks.
