Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

Smurf 2 will definitely make less money domestically then the first one its off to a slow start.

Probably will not be as massive overseas as I first thought the crown for highest grossing animated movie for 2013 will safely belong to DM2.  Frozen is the only movie that has a outside shot to gross more but I doubt it will the teaser trailer didn't impress me it will be better looking due to a much higher budget but I doubt it will a better movie overall.

All in all, it is still a more successful reboot than Batman Begins was, from a box office perspective. I seriously doubt it will beat its DVD/BR sales.

Still the new batman and superman film (Man of Steel 2) if marketed correctly and if its a quality movie could make as much as The Dark Knight Rises (Domestic) maybe even more than the Avengers if it gets amazing word of mouth like the Dark Knight trilogy.

The thing is the story and screenplay do matter a lot for success. I just came across an update that Zack Snyder is meeting with Frank Miller who wrote the story for the graphic novel The Dark Knight returns. Especially the part 2 was my personal favourite. I think the upcoming sequel can take a thing or two from it.

Looks better then the US preview trailer.  It funny that they have a better preview trailer for Japan the movie doesn't come out there until March of next year.

Even with the two extra days of release it looks like 2 Guns will out gross The Smurfs 2 this weekend.

I still think it has a slight chance of out grossing Fast and Furious 6 and become Universals highest grossing movie of 2013 especially since it hasn't been released in all overseas markets yet.  At a minimun it will out gross the first movie by at least $200 million world wide.

I agree the only movie that is released around the same time and has been hyped up a lot so far is the second Hunger Games movie and since that movie opens the week before it will hurt Frozens first weekend box offfice but I think it will do better then the remake of Oldboy which kinda looks good if you go by the trailer.

Saw Turbo yesterday, it was cute and very funny!

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Despicable Me 2 is a success. Good, the 1st one was great and the 2nd is probably the only good blockbuster movie currently in cinemas.

It's a pleasure to see so many bad tent-pole movies disappointing at the boxoffice this year.

Well 2 Guns almost did it but it will be ahead domestically of The Smurfs 2 once Mondays numbers come in. Also Smurfs 2 did less then stellar overseas it will end up making a lot less then the first one.
