Pysically it was uncomfortable and pinched on my head.

Bigger issue was how it nearly ruined the viewing experience.  I had to stop watching (and I counted) on thirteen occasions meaning I missed various parts and sections of fights I would have enjoyed otherwise.  So much rain and sparks and action made it an unpleasant experience where I could not just watch the film.  I have no idea why someone would pay double for this ($14!?) experience as I found it distracting, nauseating and just off putting.

I've only once seen a movie in IMAX 3D and I thought it was great ;o (Man of Steel). The glasses I got were huge and pretty comfortable so they didn't distract me at all. What do you mean by "rain and sparks"? Did the effects not work for you in 3D?

I would pay double simply because we don't have IMAX here

What do you think about regular 3D cinemas then?

Imagine the following scene.

Layer 1: Rain coming at your face

Layer 2: Sparks and debris flying at your face

Layer 3: Robot/Monster Foreground

Layer 4: Buildings and weapons (lasers, etc.)

Layer 5: Robot/Monster Background

Layer 6: Setting background

Layer 7: Sky

-------------

So, you want to watcht he awesome action and the rain and debris is flying at you dsitracting you.  It's just so busy and messy, be awesome to zero in on action when flat image, but all the activity in depth?  I kept having to shut my eyes and take breaks.

iMax was unimpressive, just a bigger screen all I saw, and had assigned seating so we wer eput way in the back making the effect of big screen lost on me.

I dislike 3D in any form, I never play my 3DS with 3D on as find it to be a negative aspect.

If you enjoy it great, I am really looking forward to watching Pacific Rim on my television this December hopefully.

Around the Network

Well Fox only gets a small percentage of the profits from The Croods since they only have the distribution rights the majority of the profits go to Dreamworks Animation the studio that made the film.

The Desolation of Smaug will lose some money from the first movie. Isn't that usually how it happens? People who did not see the first one, will not want to see the second one, and so on and so forth.

The second one will make slightly more then the first one you are forgetting about the people that didn't watch the first one in theaters but saw it at home and it impressed them enough to go and see the second one in theaters.  Plus there a lot of people that like to watch IMAX and 3D movies once in a while so they will see it because its one of the better ones showing during the holiday season.

I think the second one will make slightly more then the first one not a lot about $50 to $100 million more the last one should make a lot more since its the final movie in the Lord of the Rings saga.

Smurfs 2 will be a big hit overseas. Not so sure about domestic box Office.

Around the Network

The Conjuring will have a bigger dom. gross, with 1/5 of PR's budget. I guess it's a good thing they're both distributed by WB.
