Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

Yeah I don't know why 'Intouchables' succeeded so much outside of France (especially in Germany). It's not even the highest grossing movie in France ('Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis' is).

I'm pretty sure 'Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis' could have done better than what 'Intouchables' is doing right now had they bothered translating it in English. It was actually a very funny movie and I usually don't like movies from France.

Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis is one of the highest grossing foreign movies also, but The Intouchables is a much better movie and has more of a global appeal therefore it made a lot more money outside of France then Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis did.

But then again they didn't try to market the movie much outside of French speaking countries because they were already planning to sell the rights for an American verison of the movie.

The extended trailer for Cloud Atlas actually looks very interesting. I guess that Speed Racer didn't kill the Watchowskis directing careers.

the shooting definitely had an impact TDKR....not just in US. I think people in the US dont realise how big of a deal it was.

But i think the word of mouth is not gona be as good for TDKR like it was for TDK.Its a movie that will have fans and haters. Where as TDK generally just had fans.

And trying to be as objective as possible the movie simply isnt as good as the second one so naturally people will compare and then feel let down. Despite how good the movie actually is.

Guys, looks like TDKR had a great increase on Saturday. $65M is in play.
$500M+ when OS numbers are updated as well.

$25 Million Saturday from estimates.

Nice increase & $65 Million in play is great, still a bit disappointing but not outright bad as the below $60 Million weekend that was predicted yesterday *phew*

Yes, it's a relief indeed.I do think that we are worrying too much here . What are the chances of this not out-grossing TDK ? I tell you, none.

Domestically I think it won't be able to pass TDKR however if it has legs unlike TDK it should do very well. And WW I hope it passes the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2!

I was referring to WW. It has 0 chance of passing TDK domestically. Hope changes nothing regarding that .
