Sigh.... Honestly, I hate how every game franchise go toward online subscription. I know some like it more. I just don't like the concept to pay monthly to play some games and in another 10-20 year time, we can't play this old games anymore 'cause there is no active server anymore.

i want to say MH3 had a subscription in japan but free in the west; anyone know if that's true? i swear i read that around there somewhere. :P

not the same. FF was WAY bigger (outside Japan) than DQ is today by the time XI came out. DQ is still building up a following in the west.

I think you're right, and this may be the same case. But in the other hand, there's also the Wii-U version, which should be more complete, and actually be charged in the west (if the game ever come out for the system over here and if the system succed). At least, that would be nice, as they would update it more frequently.

This change could result in something fresh like DQ9. And that is something this series needed since DQ8. My only fear is that this time, it will be developed by Square-Enix itself. God help us all.
