Forums - Sony - Sony: 'Publishers Are Getting the Living Crap Kicked Out of Them by Microsoft'

I curious about what MS will do when Wii U is out 2012...

Multiplattform games will be different on the Wii U because of the unique controller (second screen) and the Wii U hardware should me more powerfull than 360/PS3

Homeboy needs to chill out.

From all acounts it is true that MS is strict as hell when it comes to their policies and they should probably be a little more open but this Sony rep needs to remember one thing before he goes on a rampage chewing people out....

MS sells more software than you. MS sells more downloadable games than you. MS usually has better multiplats than you. And finally Xbox Live Arcade has far more content than PSN does.

Basically whether you agree with them or not MS has been more successful than Sony this gen in those areas and it makes him look a little bit like the annoying kid who throws rocks at people more popular than him.

Dont Sony have a similar policy?

If M$ is going out of their way to, for example, make Call of Duty release with 5 maps instead of ten because the 360 version can only support 5 maps on the DVD, then that's bad. Very bad. Good for Microsoft and 360 owners, but bad overall.

Of course, like many have said, I want to see examples. Every developer I've seen so far has gone on record saying that any content that is cut from their games was going to be cut, anyway. I want a developer to come clean snd say, "We wanted Super Puffball Adventure 3 to have a fire stage on PS3, but because we wanted the 360 version to be equal, we had to cut it out.....Microsoft's orders."

The important point everyone overlooked. Sony knows this first hand because they are now Microsoft's third party.

Hard to say as MS gives total software numbers so seldomly and as much as I love vgchartz they have still long way to go when it comes to tracking game sales especially outside of Japan and USA. (at the end of June shipped numbers for PS3 software were 465 million and vgchartz had sold numbers at 402 million...)

So I guess, we should expect Sony or Nintendo to restrict developers' freedom on working for Microsoft's Xbox 720 if MS is going to be the 3rd placer next gen because it's just okay to be this strict as MS is this gen. Looking forward to it.

So my letters I have sended to all the publishers to make just exclusive PS3 games didn't work? ... they didn't stop making 360 games?? :( ....I'm gonna write another letter about that and put this info in it! I'm sure then they will stop making 360 games! (can somebody lick my stamps?)

Keep them around for the next time you're with badgenome or d21lewis and get two birds with one stone. Have them sign the letter too, just so the publishers knows you're not alone.
