Looking at your rainfall sig, it seems like you like jRPGs. Make sure you get Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and Blue Dragon (I thought it was pretty good).

Alan Wake is awesome as well.

I personally don't care at all about Halo and Gears, so I'll let you be the judge of that.

Blue Dragon's art is done by Akira Toriyama, correct? I'll have to get that. I'll probably end up getting all of the games you mentioned haha

I've just moved into my dorm room so I decided to treat myself.

I have a PS3, but my family wouldn't let me take it to college since they like to use it every once in awhile.

I wanted to have either PSN or Xbox Live to go onto (no offense Wii, but your online capabilities are lacking), and my roommate already had a PS3.

So I bought a 360, set up live, and now I'm playing Halo: Reach. yeeyuuhhhhhhh

Edit: Also my gamertag is MissingNo5 if you'd like to add me

Hey man hope you have fun.. the 360 offers alot of cool things like ESPN.. I like how you can buy 1080p movies cheaper then store bought..( or rent them, much cheaper )... but you can also go cheaper and buy or rent standard DVD quality..

Congratz!!! Halo Reach is amazing online so nice choice and its got a great campaign.

Also good recommendations are the Gears of War games, Alan Wake, and Forza series.

Just so you know, Left 4 Dead 2 is the greatest online game out there. BUY IT!

Just an warning. Don't let too many people know you have a 360 or you will eventually have around 30 guys in your room all fighting each other for a chance to play. I personally didn't bring any consoles to college, but the people next door brought a 360, and o my god does it get hectic during the day when no one is out.

Halo Reach is a good game (haven't tried multi-player yet) but I don't know how much you'll like it if you haven't been following the series. I say just hold off and wait for Halo Anniversary. In the meantime, Gears is all you need.

I think if your new to the Halo series, Halo Reach is a good one to start on.

Yeah, it's a prequel but I have Halo 1, 2, and 3 and I STILL didn't know what the heck was going on.  Maybe I should have gotten ODST or read a Halo comic.  Halo 3 was my first and I really enjoyed it.  I enjoyed it so much that I went back and got the other two (and I'll probably grab Anniversary).  With Reach, it seemed like I was being pushed from one battle to the other.  Maybe I didn't see the forest because of the trees.  The final scene was great, though.

If you want a better understanding of Halo Reach you should read the Fall of Reach novel. The only big difference between the book and game is that the book follows Master Chief and Noble Team was never mentioned, but it'll give you a better understanding of what is happening in the game.

You're right. It would probably be better to start with Halo CEA and then play Reach.

i don't know anything abou metroi 2033, can you tell me something about it?

The game takes place in post-apocalyptic Russia, and follows a 20 year old male survivor named Artyom (russian: Артём). When the game begins, Artyom learns from an elite soldier, or Ranger, named Hunter that a group of mysterious creatures referred to as the Dark Ones are threatening his station in the Metro. Hunter gives Artyom a Ranger token and tells him if he does not come back, he must go to Polis to see if they will help his station.

Artyom must travel through territory occupied by Soviets and Nazis, and infested with mutants. Once in Polis, he meets with a Ranger named Miller, who agrees to help him. Miller knows of a missile silo known as D6 that has the firepower necessary to destroy the Dark Ones. Artyom, Miller, and several other Rangers reactivate the command center for the missiles, and Artyom installs a laser guidance system on a nearby building. After the laser system is installed, Artyom experiences a vivid hallucination induced by the Dark Ones.

After the hallucination, two endings are possible, depending on choices the player makes throughout the game. In the normal/bad ending, Artyom allows the missiles to fire, destroying the Dark Ones. The alternate/good ending gives Artyom the choice to destroy the laser guidance device, citing a last-minute realization that the Dark Ones were actually attempting to make peaceful contact through the hallucinations.
