I was kinda hoping they would get rid of KB and make commercials filled mainly gameplay. For example, the gow3 commercial would have been better if you showed Kratos going on a small journey towards a giant beast. While on his path, he kills several weaker enemies in a cinematic fashion. That could have been a much more convincing trailer IMO. And for the Uncharted 3 commercial, they could show a compacted version of the airplane trailer. That would be much more convincing then a KB commercial IMO.

I think they need both, a funny and light hearted commercial but also ones which showcase epic games.

And what's up with Seece, did Jack Tretton kill his family or something?

Now ship him over to the UK to make some ads for us. Our PS3 ads are lame

Yeah they are...

And I have missed KB, hopefully this should provide a little push in the US

Just curious, what are the ads like there?

...Really, really BAD.

What an annoying voice.

I dont see how these ads are supposed to work tbh...

I am surprised they went back to it. I suppose it is fun and all, especially if you are a Sony "fan", male and a teenager. But I dont see it getting new customers in. Infact, it clearly doesnt. The last campaign may have got internet gamers talking and giggling a bit, but it clearly didnt improve sales.

But carry on..... doesnt offend me in any way and why should I care how sony want to spend their advertising dollars.

This isn't meant to attact any new gamers in the slightst. It's purpose is to inform the core gamers of KB's return to to 'VP of everything', while also introducing Sony's new motto. All that coupled with the fact that the length of the video exceeds 2 minutes, one can easily see that this isn't intended for casuals or any potential consumers. Anyone who thinks video was created with the purpose of increasing sales is simply wrong.

Just a video for entertainment. Nothing more.

You know...this ad did EXACTLY what it was supposed to do.

It got people talking about Sony.

Indeed. Problem is, it doesn't happen often enough in the right situations (or does get to the point efficiently). The new slogan may be their way of addressing that though.

It says a lot about Sony's marketing efforts this gen...for most parts, it lacks direction.

A return to E3 with this new slogan is a necessity at this point

"Why should I care enough to tell you that it's bad advertising."

LOL YOU CARE SO F*CKING HARD. That is why you are so dislikable. Because unlike others.... unlike those others who overtly praise a system, and are called fanboys, you are a sneak who hides behind petty, non-aggressive words.

and I'm not even mad lol

is this were I show a picture of a handbag...

are you saying you think this is good and effective advertising?

I'm not debating the "ad". I'm saying you're a sneak. You subtly call others "fan[boys]" (we all saw what you meant), and I think others should know that your image of "expert" should be taken with a truckload of salt. Everytime I read something sneaky like this from you it really makes me wonder just how invested you are in this "war". (my point is not about your "fans" comment, but about the derisiveness of the entire post, peppered with backhanded compliments, combined with saying that you don't really care. I think you're trying to come off as informed and knowledgeable, casual and non-invested, where meanwhile I wouldn't describe you as such. Well, I do think you're informed and knowledgeable, but definitely not when it comes to bashing ps3 and it's fanbase)

and to answer your question, I don't think this is an ad for the public. I think it is meant to be a fun for the fans, and I don't see what being a male teenager has to do with the clip's likability.

wow... ok.

lol

There isnt an hidden message in my post... It pretty clearly states I dont get what these "ads" achieve.  and you finally in your last point above address that.... thanks.

The rest of your post is paranoid nonsense.

BTW... show me some posts where I "bash" the PS3... shouldnt take you long there are loads of them according to you.

so predictable.

paranoia? It's obviously backhanded compliments. Why did you quote the word fans then? Typically, in English you use quotes around a single word to either refer to something novel that the reader just learned about, or as a paraphrase/placeholder for a different word. Like if I were to talk about jersey shore characters, I might say- those "actors"- because I don't think they deserve to be called actors.

Now you're saying you weren't doing that?

Or - you're saying that you don't actually care, but still went out of your way to not only criticize the clip by saying it wouldn't making gamers want to buy (which is not what the clip is for, so, off-topic there at best), and criticize the people that liked the clip by saying it's great if you're a male teen "FAN".

Laughable.

Ya Kevin Butler is back!!
