There we go. I am glad to lend a helping hand to a fellow gamer so you don't look utterly ignorant and extremely stupid for criticizing a game based on personal knowledge (or lack of in this case) and bashing it for no good reason, while at the same time not adding anything to the discussion. By the way welcome to Vg Chartz fellow gamer, and I hope this site teaches you alot about some great "obscure" titles.

OT: I am planning on picking up the PC version sometime this or next week. Seen a few non spoiler gameplay videos and read about 11 different reviews. Also loved original Deus Ex, although I have to try out game of the year edition. Barely played Invisible War, but I read that is a non issue. I have played just about every MGS game (except very first pc version which was ported to nintendo anyways lol, and the gamecube version, but already played the superior ps1 version) and some elements definitely remind me MGS stealth aspects. I am also interested in seeing how well the augmentations play out.

The augs work pretty well, but you can't (atleast on the difficulty i'm playing) rely on them fully, you have to rely more on your own skills and plan out your attacks, the augs are just a mean to better your approach on the matter.

in my play style, i use hacks a lot , but i also tend to avoid fights as much as possible, so most of the time i don't even knock down enemies, i just avoid their sight all together and use vents for example.

Fix it!

I'd guess because they'd still want to like MGS.

Deus Ex is just... soo much better.

Sure they have similarities... but when it comes to execution, it's just night and day.  Espeically in storytelling ability.

Deus Ex illustrates a much better and interactive way to tell an overarching geo-political story.

IE most learning done through action, not exposition. (Aka reading newspapers, hacking into secret comptuers on the side.)

Isn't that a matter of opinion?

In the same way that saying the old star wars movies are better then the prequels is an opinion.

There is a difference between an opinion and an informed opinion based on standards in on how well you use a medium.

It's not a case of "Killzone is better the gears" because the Helghast are cooler or Gears is better then Killzone because the main characters are more "bad ass".

One specifically uses the medium of games better... while the other seems to go out of it's way to make itself as un game like as possible.

People also say MGS games are more a movie then a game... but it's not really that either... as films tend to avoid that level of "narration".

I've been playing it every day since it came out, so I did my part. While I don't think it's as good as MGS, I feel it does a much better job of bringing the player into the game.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Yes this is exactly what this site needs, trolling from a 12 year old kid on a franchise that started 11 years ago. That's just great, it states your off line now, must be time for your nap..

Good point. Deus Ex Human Revolution is the best MGS-like there is.
