Forums - PC - The most expensive desktop gaming rig you will ever see

http://www.originpc.com/thebigo-config.asp

$16,999. Yes, you're seeing that right. I almost crapped myself when I seen the price. It cost as much as  new car!

Still, it doesn't get much better than a liquid cooled Quad SLI EVGA GTX 580 setup. How long do you think a gaming rig like this could last for without it being surpased by a $1000 setup in the future? I'd guess maybe 3 years, with 4 being the most.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

I'm not sure how entirely necessary dual xeons are for a gaming rig would be.

And I'm not gonna guess... computer stuff is too difficult to predict.

i could buy 2 of those and get better performance.

I approve :D

So no AMD version of this?

And even without that, it doesn't seem like that great of a computer. Is all that power really necessary?

I'm not sure any game would use even one of the X5680 Xeons, given that it's a 6-core CPU.

That said, here is a 10-core CPU:

Each one costs $4616 by itself... You can put up to 8 of those on a server, which would be 80 cores. But you may have to sell your house to build that server...

It's built for power. Why on Earth would there be an AMD verion?

No it isn't. It's the kind of thing that only a ricer would buy.

The average gamer wouldn't even use 1/4 of the power that thing has.

Why would someone that?!

12GB Corsair GT 2000Mhz_ Why? They won't be able to top that speed, even overclocked.

12x Pioneer Blu-ray burner_ How useful for... nothing?

Liquid cooled Xbox360_ Seriously?

That's... just... wrong.

Please excuse my bad English.
